  1. Make sure you get a high-temp silicone boot so it doesn't crack again.
  2. Hey SubaruJunkie, you know anyone who needs a ea82 for parts or maybe to drive? This guy is selling his wagon for $9.99 on Ebay. I'm only mentioning it 'cause it's in Sacto. Check it out. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6783&item=2467181044
  3. Here's a place that carries high performance brake parts for Sube's. http://www.ricambisport.com/ (look under Loyale)
  4. Check this thread out - http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3304&highlight=axles I believe chef_tim put some GCK's on one of his rides a few months back.
  5. Depends on how popular they are in your area. It wouldn't be worth it where I am, but they aren't that popular here. Also depends on how nice a shape the car is in.
  6. Did you ever put the old coil back on and try it out? Pretty simple way of finding out if your new coil is bad.
  7. Magnecor makes a real nice 8mm for EA's. Electrosports-70 7mm cable, part number 4775 - $41.68 Electrosports-80 8mm cable, part number 4075 - $43.95 $7 shipping I believe. Check it out. http://www.magnecor.com/magnecor1/main.htm And
  8. Welcome to the USMB. I'm headed up 50 to Tahoe in a few hours. They're saying about a foot or so of fresh powder by tomorrow. Christmas on the slopes anyone? Anyway, I drove my 86 for 3 years with ticks before getting the oil pump and seals replaced. Didn't seem to do too much damage. And I used to abuse it pretty bad too.
  9. From what I've read, flushing our radiators is more a preventive messure than a fix. Once they're clogged, flushing isn't going to help much. I had a similar problem with my 87 and the radiator fixed it. The limited flow just can't get the job done above 50-60 mph.
  10. Haven't found the leak yet. I figure I'll be fixing it soon enough, but I have about 5 other problems to take care as well. Can't afford all right now, and the PS leak is real slow, so it's not my first priority at the moment. Just wondering if anybody has had any luck with any of the additives out there (i.e. Lucas, Trans-X, Royal Purple, etc.). I will now celebrate my promotion from Rookie status to USMB Regular.
  11. If you do go with just replacing the boot, make sure and get the high-temp silicone ones. I believe JCWhitney and Carquest have them. I've read that the split-boot type replacement is OK for a temp fix.
  12. Anybody have any favorite power steering additives? I was going to get some Lucas, but I figured I would ask first. I have a slow leak and a little bit of noise now and again from the pump. Any suggestions?
  13. Be careful taking the old sensor out. If it's really old it can break off and then you'll have alot more work to do.
  14. I like the way that Weapon-R filter wedges up against the air duct in the fender. Nice fit. And I thought my engine bay was clean. Damn. Refreshingly funny website. I don't like to take my Sube too seriously either.
  15. Here's another link if needed. EZ fix. http://usmb.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?threadid=5607&highlight=%2Acargo+cover%2A
  16. Carquest lists an upgrade for 80-89 boots. It is ARI part#42-62298 and are said to be high-temp silicone. Its in this technical service bulletin I found. http://www.carquest.com/techbulletins/RDS/TC_2004.pdf
  17. Have you gone to any auto glass replacement shops? They might know more than the dealer. I worked in the glass industry for a few years and dealers often contract out there glass work. I guarantee this isn't something exclusive to Subaru's. An experienced auto glass tech should be able to point you in the right direction, depending on your area of course.
  18. I believe all the EA82's with AC have two fans. One mechanical, one electric. Just don't run your AC and you should be fine until you can find one at the JY. Unless of course your mechanical fan is bad too. Keep close tabs on your gauge.
  19. Isn't that the second cat? My 87 has two cats, no resonator.
  20. I'm definitely gonna have to check my fusible link for corrosion. Thanks Skip! What about an old battery?
