Replacement seats ????
kingwill replied to kingwill's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
I got a nice set from moosens and had the yellow inserts added at the upholstery shop. You can see them in my gallery. Oooooooh I like those. and it really goes well with your brat. What about those over the counter racing seats?? There a little pricey but would they work? Oh and what is the process of removing the rails off my old brat seats and attaching them to a new (yard) seat? If you know? Anyone? -
How frustated can I get ????????
kingwill replied to Twowagons's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
for a little bit I thought you were discribing my two brats, I too have the cold air rush into the cab from the vents I have not been able to stop it either. Maybe a big thick sock would do. My 80' brat has this problem, my 81 brat does not, and I think the reason is that there is a big chunk of insulation in there,(looks like a dead hampster) once I remove that I should have the ice cold blast running through the vents too. If you find the answer to stop this please let me know to. Also with your exhast same thing with my 81' glass pak and exhast near the rear drivers tire, This weekend I placed some larger tires on and the pipe was rubbing on the tire, I used a crow bar and my foot and bent it, to get it out of the way. Sorry to here about your troubles, but it is refreshing to know that these problems just don't happen to me. Good luck -

kingwill replied to kingwill's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Does anyseat work?? the tracks are different right? A do not have the ability fab new tracks or to weld new ones on. -
I'm thinking about replacing the seats in my 80' and 81' brat's What seats could I buy for this and where would I go and get them. Also because I'm over 6' tall, leg room is a plus, so I'm looking for a good seat that is not going to restrict my legs in shifting and turnning of the sterring wheel, Any suggestions? Brad

I guess I have the mini York system. with the big square compressor, I though it was factory. Mine works but it makes a loud grinding noise like the bearing is out, I just removed the belt and it is just sitting there. I would love to remove it but do not know how too. Brad -

Shawn I thought about this too. What advantage does he have on me? -
I posted in the market place a soob that looks like a bull, I had some intrest, but after a few soob fans checked it out it was going to be too much of a project. I posted it up on craigs list in Portland and with in 6hrs had 4 people interested in it and one of them is from Canada. This person is going to pay me 1500.00 in a m/o I will remove 300.00 for what I'm selling the car for and the rest is to go to a shipping company to ship to Canada. Doesn't this sound weird? Why would you pay 1100.00 to ship a 300.00 car to Canada. Or am I missing something, like gold under the dash board or something? What do you guys think?

if it is worth my effort I will pollish them up I will try ebay in a few days then but stick a reserve price so I don't get hosed either
-
Chrome Wagon wheels, They are too nice for me or my wifes cars, What do you guys think I could get for them on Ebay? I mean I have seen some outragous prices for parts on ebay, and I have never seen Chrome wagons, (I thought they only came in white sometimes Black) Brad

Thankyou for the tips I have always wondered, It is a add on that I will do down the road, Right now my 80' has steel bumper I bought a few years ago from Ralph that fit the gen 1 I believe that will do, I have no front bumper for my 81' but that is in the works from another board member. After I get both running ok I will think about getting a winch. Brad

kingwill replied to kingwill's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Yeah I have someone on the board locally that is going to look at it monday If he likes it he gets it, I really did not want to sell it but I really do not need 5 cars while renting a place apt or house. He needs it more than me since I bought another Brat, That's what my wife wanted more. Plus it has been sitting for over a year I really don't have time to work on it. Brian, I thought about selling it on ebay to, I also think it is unsafe to drive, not only hard to drive as well. Brad -

Knight rider, I think did not have to rotate the wheel a lot to turn his car, I spun the wheel in a parking lot turning around and smacked my hand with that cut off peice when I was expecting the wheel there. It hurt. the wheel is going soon. Do you want it ? -
