Almost Impossible to find....Brat in Argentina
Well......after a lot of years searching backyards, contrysides, and almost everywhere i ever drive...............i found a Brat in Argentina. 1980 1600 no dual range. Needs a windshield, and some other stuff but, it is in a good rasonable shape. U$s800 Untitled by MartinSubaru4WD, on Flickr Untitled by MartinSubaru4WD, on Flickr Untitled by MartinSubaru4WD, on Flickr Untitled by MartinSubaru4WD, on Flickr Not running since maybe 4 years ago, it needs new gas lines, need to clean the tank. First of all i'll try to start the engine and do some mechanic issues to make her driveable.

84 subaru brat at a crossroad
As others says, EJ22 is too much power for a 16 years old boy in a brat (136HP). And, for me, the heart of the brat is the EA81. If i where you, for sure i´ll buy the rebuild EA81

EA81 head gasket replacement questions.
You can do it with the engine in the car. you can also made your own socket for bolt #1 as i did myself! 2013-12-29_19-48-47_668 by MartinSubaru4WD, on Flickr remember you must take of studs bolts from both blocks and do a little resurface of both blocks.
- There is nothing like a Subaru Brat...

Tools - and the Cheapening of the World
well......maybe one of the reasons that i love your country is because of the "build with pride in the USA"...... Durign my visit in 2009 i bought my first Snap On set of wrenches, impposible to find them in Argentina. Then in my otrers visits the only stuffs i bought was tools, and i found Craftman Made in USA, wrenches, pliers and screwdriders too! but what you says is a very common problem of the entire globalization of the world.....

Constant missing, advice?
Because what happened to me last year was that i had a ring problem so there where some oil consumption and the spark get wrong so it produced the missing cilinder. So i rering, did heads gasket and now its running like a brand new engine!
