  1. I'd feel much better seeing more triangles too! As is I don't think it has one "safe" hit/roll in it. Add Steel. Document the build. Don't look back.
  2. Keep on weldin! Keeping the firewall etc... will sure save some time and effort. Take lots-o-pics and document your build. Keep us posted!
  3. Weld your diff and you will not get stuck! You won't even spin a tire! I have yet to spin a tire or get stuck!
  4. :slobber:Those look Great! Awesome simply awesome What rims are you using? Did I miss this in the thread? I've never lost a bead yet. I'm running 20-26 psi depending on the season and what I'm doing. The Aussies run 30 psi in their ATV tires.
  5. Where do you draw the line on "Still being a Subaru"? Most Yotas are not much yota. Build Jeeps are very little Jeep. I think it would be hard to get much bigger than that Wagon! Those Iceland boys do a good job.
  6. ...an all Subaru Junk Yard! Some people have all the luck...
  7. No winch up front...yet... I made space for the Harbor Freight #8000 winch but then decided that was overkill and put the little #2000 ATV winch back there, with a pulley. The front was modified to allow a better angle of approach but that left very little room for even a small winch up front. I figure it's better to be pulled out of a problem than pulled into one? I wanted to make a portable winch on a receiver that could be mounted on the sides, front or rear but have not done that...yet? I have heard of some Rock Crawlers mounting one winch in the center and using it in all directions? I don't know how they are making that work?
  8. Sorry I'm not around much on the weekends. Just saw this thread. You are correct, I'm running 26X12X12 tires on 12" rims and not having any clearance problems with the struts or brakes. There are a handfull of folks running 12" rims on Subies. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=7435&cat=500&perpage=12&sort=3&ppuser=584 The fenders on an EA81 without a lift would be a problem?
  9. Is this for your 87? There are some in Ogden and above. Get a used one if it's for your 87. I picked up a secondary one for "Summer" for $12 or so... Good Luck, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer--Summer
  10. ...and I thought Vanuatu was only good for Vacationing, Money Laundering and Off Shore Shell Corporations....
  11. Sounds like a salesman got to a classic Subaru Beater to me:rolleyes:.
  12. On my hatch there were numerous grounds on the back end. My bet is a ground not grounding.
  13. Just before the door closes is it at the proper height? The strike plate can be lowered or... ...one of the hindges can be adjusted? I'd play with a hindge first and see if that will fix it. You'd have to mess with it anyway if you could replace the bushing.
  14. No 02 sensor replacement, but my car only has 46k on it? Most of my problem was that $@#$@#$ Knock sensor.
  15. I have always wondered who owned this car before me... Mad Max or Darth Vadar... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=7437&cat=500&perpage=12&sort=3&ppuser=584
  16. That motor is clean enough to eat off of it:lol:! ...but then it would be dirty... Nice Job on the Datsun!
  17. Pre-premier squock about putting an ugly Chevy front grill on a Subaru.:-p
  18. I've had similar problems with my 01 Forester. I noticed it most with the A/C on? I have replaced my Knock Sensor and the problem seems to have gone away to some degree. Although A/C still sucks the performance out of the motor.:-\
  19. Which part of weld it didn't you understand:confused: Weld first, ask questions later... ...Remember axles are cheap!... I think you'll be suprised:banana:
  20. Thanks, Guys! This is exactly why I'm still here! I think this is how a board should be:rolleyes:
  21. I think there are many of us who don't like our account names. We made them up without too much thought just to get on the board. Now we have to live with the stupid names we picked! Sweet82? Deal with it! It's just a board name on the USMB.
  22. I suspect a handful of people just sign up for a new one and never delete the old one? It would be nice to get rid of dead accounts but... it also makes the board appear bigger

  24. My 01 Forester did the same thing:mad: Had to clean it and lube it. Then I crossed my fingers. So far so good.
