  1. Many states use ca emissions so all cars are pretty much ca emissions
  2. Have you changed the PCV valve? Do you have blue exhaust?
  3. The rubbing noise makes me think it. Usually these trannies are very robust but once the slipping stars its doom
  4. I have a 3rd gen now, I loved my 2nd gen OB, but now I need a power liftgate, so Im stuck going 5th gen. Actually compared to cars of similar years they are equal or better then their peers and still on the basic side of technology.
  5. Actually its getting etter again but you have to get to the more recent ones to get there.
  6. Fram bad, otherwise I agree. I changed mine every 5K as it was easier to remember. Real dino oil is fine. I usually did 10w40
  7. I dont need any fancy shmantzy (thats the technical term) scanners to tell you whats wrong. The tranny codes show any faults from the previous cycle of operation. Your not going to like it And on top of everything else you have torque bind. The dsmage is done but I'm going to ask, do all the tires match?
  8. Especially ones matched to the CVT, there must be two or three of you out there .... Your mpg, and opinions? I am looking at a 2017 H-6 with 15,000 miles and all the bells and whistles.
  9. Yes the trick is to look for a common denominator when you have multiple unrelated codes. I often wonder how many cats have been sold wrongfully. Something else to look for, on csrs with start/stop they have a second battery that can throw all sorts of unrelated error codes when its bad. Same for EVs.
  10. Look used then as personally I would get oe even at that mileage
  11. Also keep in mind OE has lasted this long odds are OE replacement will last just as long
  12. Im not sure who this is addressed to, but I'll answer. I upgrade cars once there is significant safety updrades. Eyesite has been around for a while to seem reliable. The CVTs seem debugged. And due t my present situation a power liftgate would be a godsend. However I do agree with you, but also I am shopping (for me) fairly new. Its going to be weird buying a subaru with less then 100K on it
  13. Have you changed the fluid at all? Do all your tires match? It may not be impending doom if you have had it for some time
  14. The harder the part is to get to, the better off you are getting an OE part from a subaru supplier.
  15. I think this sort of establishes it. Can you go to the same place put in the FWD fuse and see if there is a difference? How is the tranny fluid?
  16. Check the remotebatteries. Odds are they are the same age.
