GL10T Help please!!!
ok I know you have been dealing with this for a while. what have you done/checked? what do you have to work with as far as trouble shooting tools? it sounds like ignition from the description but it could be any thing really. start by determining whats good. then see whos left.

more efi madness(she runs, and drives!)
have you actually checked fuel pressure?that would be really helpfull. return line pluged? yes timing will effect vacume. you can actually set timing by watching a vacume gauge.

Uh oh What have I done
I believe that one is the purge sol. I just broke a wire off mine. need to get it replaced. yeah Garner not only do I need mine for emisions but Im a lame O and like EGR valves too. But enough of my save the earth, granola lovin, tree huggin talk. they seem to work well with or with out em. I like the 91 loyal idea. GM parts are cheap.

synthetic oil MYTHS
wow.... here we go again.... I have run both. never noticed any leaks. greater or lesser due to the oils. yeah leaks happen. just changing from one brand to another may contribute to leakage as different oil packages are not always compatible. well I guess anything is possible. I had a guy tell me that the red line oil that we both used would cause my motor to leak. three cars later and still no leaks. Im back to regular castrol due to the price of oil changes with the amount of miles the cars rack up. and delo 400 for the diesel benzo. I do run an oil cooler and turbo timer to try and help out.

suspension
there are some special spring compressors that work really well on the small springs. not cheap though. I need to save up my pennys to get one. oh and sometimes the struts are not actually adjustable. some come with a fixed lower pearch and some have the little notches. my 85 had it but the 87 did not.

Installing an Intercooler for Dummies Questions
just sent you a PM and I see the pic now too. your BOV will not work like that. it may leak boost and then not vent properly. it needs a proper signal. It has to see MANIFOLD vac and boost after the throttle body. otherwise looks like some good progress. keep it up.

tripin from CA to WA
Cool:drunk: going to be hooking up with the cousin that night but I dont know if he has any plans for the night. I will ask him. I am working like crazy to get some new bording gear for the season. my old stuff is about done. boots/bindings worn out. board is nice but too small for me. I sink in the powder and trees.

Installing an Intercooler for Dummies Questions
hmm I think the line that went to the old aluminum was for the idle air control like Will stated. could be wrong mine has not been stock for quite a while. the blow off/bypass valve needs the vac line hooked up to it or it will leak boost unless you bluged the outlet too. simply T into the line that feeds the vacume canister BEFORE the check valve. I ran mine open for about a week. got to be a real pain espically on long drives. not good for the mixture either. it shifts alot better with it hooked up properly too. tubing looks real good. nice intercooler too. let me know the details on that thing again. I know you did already but I forgot. sorry. I would be a little concerned about the hoses you used and fixing the intercooler to the body. I dont see enough flex alowed at the hoses. most stock systems use a flex or bulge hose to let it have more freedom of movement. I would show you mine but the wife broke the camera good this time. check out www.turbohoses.com

I was looking for one for my wife but she decided she wants to spend more $ and get somthing nicer/newer/pricyer. guess she is expecting a raise at work. must be nice.

It made it..... barely. only three gears were left by the time it got home. found out it had just been welded up a week before. dont evin bother tring to fixit if its cracked just get a new(used) one.

My WRX TMIC install pics.
man I just got home took some good detail pics of my whole TD04 conversion and related mods. then I found the camera cable went to work with the wife. I was going to give Will a picture battle:D I fabed a crazy bit of intercooler ducting/cold air inducting and took it out for a bit of a ride out of the hood and up a big hill climb with turns. It was raining a bit too. that made it fun. new tires stick great. felt realy strong. ok sorry Will I will start my own thread of pics tomarow with explanations.

Boost controlers.
I think the saab apc unit is a little more acurate though. it has capibilitys to retard BOOST if it detects knock. a little bird told me so:brow: I need to get my junk yard tool box out and go saab hunting.

Nissan Injectors?
I dont know the specifics but nissans do use the same type of injector as the older subes. the only problem I see is that the stock fuel system will not be able to handle the larger injectors. that leaves the option of aftermarket ECM or mega squirt to manage them. and it still may be a bit tricky. now I could be wrong but I have not heard of too many people having problems with the injectors flow ability. some people have found the need to trick the system into running richer than normal but that was a race thing if I rember correctly. a long time ago on an old message board far far away. someone stated that our injectors flow the same as a WRX unit. I have no facts to back that up but I do rember it being stated.

My WRX TMIC install pics.
Will.... your crazy. but hey your used to that by now. I would be slightly concerned about the epoxy job for the bypass valve. I used the little muffler thingys spot. I also turned my IC side ways to avoid the unwanted use of a sledge on my car. I guess I should post a new pic as its changed a little bit since I last put it up. I will work on that when I get home from work.

Where to get "4WD TURBO" side stickers?
hmm I could really use the 4wd turbo sticker for the rear (red I think) mine was painted over or something. I tried a long time ago when there was a suposed huge stock pile of old sube parts avl. from some one. mabey some one has a pic of it?

Help installing WRX TMIC - what do I need to buy? (lot of PICS)
mandrel bent tubing has the same ID thru the bends. dont know what you are looking at at the depot so I cant compare. yes Will intercoolers work:cool: . so I am curious how you set it up. you have pics yet?

Recirc valve or not?
fabricated the rest of the plumbing to get my recirc valve to dump into the intake last night. runs better. no stumble between shifts. seems to stay spooled better too. Drkrazy- I have a couple different valves sitting around. if you need one and cannot find one local I would sell you one cheap. what type are you looking for? the only problem with that intercooler is that although it fits verry nice. its not the most efficient design. but hey neither is the WRX unit I run. guess some intercooler is better than no intercooler. dam I wish I could have had a FMIC.
