  1. If you are only worrying about snowy conditions for 2 weeks out of the year, I would say, "don't mess with any differential mods!" It's really not worth your time or money. Just drive sensibly in the snowy stuff. I cant imagine that you get a mass amount of snow in Texas or enough to worry about YOUR subaru having traction problems in it.
  2. So.... I'm gonna install a pair of Daylighters on my Loyale, and I was just wondering where a good place is to run the wires from the engine bay to the cabin. This is the first electronic accessory I've added to this car, so i'm not that familiar with it. Spanks.
  3. The overhangs on the BAJA are just too long...I think that's the major problem with that car. By the way, maybe you should send those pics to Subaru and an application for their design team!
  4. Couple questions. I know you can swap the rear springs on my loyale with Honda Accord springs. But, I dont know what year accord, or from what end of the car they're from. Also, is there a similiar swap for the front of my loyale? I'd like to do this instead of lifting my car, because this is my daily driver. Thanks for any input/suggestions.
  5. Here's a link. Pretty reasonable price. http://subaru.autowebaccessories.com/store/cat181_165.php
  6. I have a friend who seems to think that's the answer...His new Dodge Ram is now worth about the same as my 92 Loyale...I think that about sums it up.
  7. Ok, gonna make this really short...What are all the safe jack points on my 92 loyale...The rear jack points are getting a little rusty. I'm used to Vehicles with FRAMES. So, i'm new to the unibody. Where can i safely use my floor jack/scissors jack?
  8. I just drove in the worst snowstorm of my life, and I am proud that it was in my SUBARU LOYALE STATION WAGON! This thing just amazes me every time i drive it. I also have an F-150 5.0 4wd and would much rather drive my Soobie in slick situations. PRAISE BE TO SUBARU!
  9. Whenever you're working with something that thick, just heat it up in a bucket of very hot water, then pour it.
  10. Well, it finally happened. I spilled coffee on myself while driving. Luckily i was headed home, but it was still maddening. Has anybody found a good cupholder for a Loyale?? I dont want to glue anything or cut into anything, or otherwise destroy my trim/interior. I put one directly behind my stick, but only cans can fit in it (everything else is too tall for 2nd, 4th, and R). Any thoughts or ideas would be great as im not great at removing stains!
  11. I didnt think the movie was that bad...Definately weird and very different.
  12. Check your overflow coolant tank when your engine it hot. Fill your tank with a 50% coolant 50% water mix to the "fill line." Keep up on this problem, and consider getting it fixed. Dealing with losing coolant is an annoyance.
  13. nice! how did you mount those? i see you used a metal plate...gimme the details. i'm mounting mine on a 92 loyale, same location you did yours
  14. All you guys out west have so much room to play! I'm jealous!
  15. Blue smoke usually means you're burning oil...from what i've learned. This could be from the previous engine if it left oil in the exhaust to be burned out after your engine was replaced.
  16. Between 20 and 23.5 delivering pizzas.. This is the worst possible.
  17. I want to mount a pair of KC Daylighter lights to the top of my bumper like Skip did, is this possible? I really cant mount the lights to my roof, because i have a kayak rack, they'll be in the way. Nor do i want to mount them to the hood.
  18. I forget who it is....but somebody has a red loyale or gl wagon with two round 6" off-road lights mounted on the top center of the bumper...who are you? I've seen the picture, but cant find it now. It's driving me crazy.
  19. All good advice! I have a feeling my car will be getting a major tune-up for this trip. It should be an awesome time and i'm gettin excited!
  20. This summer, I plan a road trip from Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania to Missoula, Montana! Whoa! This trip will be done by My 92 Subaru Loyale, my twin brother Matt, and myself. I bought my Soobie Loyale at 70k miles, it now has 81k and by the time i go to Montana will most likely have 86k miles on it. I have not yet replaced the timing belts, and i dont know if they've ever been replaced. SO! Should i have the belts replaced? To get ready for the trip, should i get anything else replaced? I recently tightened the belts, and they squeaked the next day, anyway.....So, what's the news? I guess, i'm not worried about money, since i'll save it at my own mechanic. Let me know what you think. Sorry if this is long winded...I'm wasted! Chris.
  21. Found it, with a little more searching. Here it is if you need it http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/article.php?a=44
  22. First time i've had to do it...My check engine light is on. I need to run the codes. I forget what to search for to find the walk through. Can somebody give me a link or a hint to a search. Thanks, appreciate it.
