I thought the same thing, and what's with the side door windows? I hope that's some sort of camo faux frame. -
95 thru 99 - 2K was a whole new body style.

Our '06 Outback (2.5L) has the same hesitation (actually it's about one second, but it's still disconcerting when you want to go NOW to avoid an on-coming logging truck). And yes, the dealer (repeatedly) says it's 'normal'. I hadn't though of the Sport Shift tho', I'll try that and see if it's any different. I think it won't be.

I dunno, but she HATES that car. And she told me "If you say ONE MORE TIME ' told you to buy a Subaru', you're outta the club!"

The prez of the Whitefish Outrigger Canoe Club (Hui Wa'a o' ia Kea) bought a FWD CRV and can't get it out of her LEVEL driveway in snow or ice ... skip it.

Our 2006 does not have this problem, I agree that you should avoid Amourall, it degrades vinyl and results in cracking in the long term. Get Aerospace 303. Don't spray it around the car, wet a soft cloth and wipe the surfaces down with it. It wiill dry to an invisible matte finish, and 'heal' small scratches. Good Stuff!

BIL, called, and of course the replacement cost him $20.00, installed at a local gas station. This dealer has really p!ssed me off, and I don't even live on Maui. I just can't help wondering how many folks they have ripped off with this scam. My BIL is pretty non-confrontational so I doubt he will do anything, but the next time we go visit him I swear I'll borrow the Forester, loosen the bulb and go in for a written estimate. If I get the same rip-off offer I'm going to do whatever it takes to get SOA involved.

Just the bulb. I told him to poke around on the back of the housing and he would see a black socket that would unscrew or unsap in a logical way and to stick in a new $15.00 bulb (being careful to not touch the glass) and put it back together. I also told him to go back to the service department and ask for a written bid to replace a burned out headlight, and after discussing it with the manager or owner of thestealership to report the business to SOA for investigation. If he doesn't, I may drive his Forester in and do it myself when I'm visiting Hawaii next month.

Asking for my BIL on Maui. Right side headlight burned out and he stopped by the dealer to have it replaced. They told him that he had to replace the entire unit ... $300.00+, plus labor! I can't believe this. Surely there's no way that hte Forester is that different from the Legacy/Outback series. Are they crooks, or am I just clueless? BTW, Hi from gone walkabout mtsmiths. The 2006 is just so good, I never need any help any more . Check classified for snow tires/wheels.

If I were buying an otherwise salvagable Mustang 'verte for $1,000.00, I'd just take it to a professional disaster restoration place and pay them to clean it out. They'll be able to kill any residual live mold and mildew also.

I checked all the 'hesitation' posts and couldn't find my problem. Our non-turbo Outback has a full-throttle response delay of a full second, and then departure is 'leisurely'. There are no TSBs on the car. I had the car in for an oil change so anted up the $50.00 for a diagnostic and it all came back clean. The tech said it drives like all the others. Our 2000 Legaback would chirp the tires when floored on dry pavement, and I'm afraid to pull out into traffic in this one. It behaves just like a carb with a sticky float. Any ideas?
