  1. how do I post pics from picasa??
  2. it still rolls... i'm still not completely clear on the complete extent of the damage. it wasn't driveable though... and it was leaking oil when I got out. I know the front of the engine, aka all the pumps and stuff... is pretty smashed up. I noticed the gear shift was sitting up a couple inches higher than usual... drive system is probably wacked. it's pretty smashed in. but from the looks of it... it only took damage from the wheels up. the hood is actually barely warped... the front bumper matched up with hers perfectly. i'll try to get some pics up.
  3. guys... I am feeling it. but, I can't imagine the pain my friend is in who smashed his head into the windshield and demolished my radio, and passenger side a/c vent with his knees. on top of that he went to work, his first day on the job!!!!! wow... what a trooper.
  4. i know it's a bit much, but i think i can maybe get it down to $1800... but it seems worth it being that everything that would ever need to be replaced is practically brand new. it looks good too, you think that's a good deal?? http://raleigh.craigslist.org/car/217086564.html
  5. very true. looking at bgds car... do you think it would be possible to cut the front end off and weld up a new front end? cuz my uncle owns a shop and says he's done it before and if I can find another soob for cheap, put a new front end on it. I'd hate to see it go to the jy... and it is very hard to find non-rotten soobs around here.
  6. that's too far to drive, lol.
  7. an idiot pulled out in front of me today, completely her fault... and I smashed into her 2005 ford taurus at 45 mph and totaled my roo. my friend wasn't wearing his seatbelt, i was. he smashed his head into the windshield and his chest hit the dash. bled some... but not really bad. he'll be back at work tomorrow, he's 260 lbs so he hurt the car more than himself, lol. the lady in the taurus, which i hit square on the passenger side corner, (she was turning in front of me) was trying to put mascara on in the ambulance. can you say DUI? she even tried to drive away from the scene. My car, pretty smashed up. hers was amazingly not that damaged, but she had to leave in an ambulance even though she was wearing her seatbelt. I'm fine... but the soob is toast. if you've seen bdg's white sedan, that's about what mine looks like. I'll have some pics of it posted soon enough. I'll miss that thing. it got me to denver colorado and back without complaining once and I even have a new carb on the way for it from Oregon. 4 new axles, brand new headgaskets, complete reaseal, new water pump, 2 new tires, other 2 in great shape, new fuel pump, new rear diff, and royal purple in both front and rear. oh yeah, and new clutch too. all within the last year. this sucks. where am I gonna find another soob to replace it in Tennessee??
  8. I feel the same way. It's so fun to drive... but it's so slow. well, not terribly slow, but it could definitely use more oomf. it's just... it feels so damn nimble. like you could fit anywhere and manuever wherever you wanted, which you basically can. I remember driving my sister's civic out to town when my soob was temporarily out of commission... and I had to adjust the way I drove just to prevent from turning the oil pan inside out. couldn't even zoom in and out of a parking lot without banging something up. you can get air in a subaru and still not bottom anything out. it's like driving around in an underpowered urban dune buggy, lol. it's a narrow car, short for a wagon. and on top of that it has an insanely tight turning radius. sits up high for a small car, and you can feel the clearance under you so you don't feel pressured to slow down at a steep hill or zooming into a steep parking lot entrance. they handle VERY well for what they are. and ahhhh, that sound... coupled with the smell of dead mice eminating from the heater vents. Now THAT'S what makes a Subaru a Subaru. hahaha
  9. holy moses... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=enMDCVKVjUc&NR hell yeah.
  10. Never have I seen such a peaceful person cause so much uproar. He likes 3 mains, I like them too. Yes it's underpowered, yes it keeps me from getting speeding tickets, yes it can tow a 7,000 lb truck, yes it can get 30 mpg. Yes an EJ can do all that (with the exception of the speeding ticket thing:grin: ) and then some. Don't mean to hi-jack a thread, but what's the most miles any of you have seen on an EJ?? Not saying an EJ can't get over 500,000 or anything... but I've never seen it documented.
  11. oh yeah... btw, was it driveable in that condition? seems to me like something would have punctured the radiator, but it looks sorda questionable to me.
  12. wow... that really freakin sucks. that was alot of work... time to find another sedan I suppose. shouldn't take long to duplicate the mods that were made to the wrecked one.
  13. how's the low range with a t-case with tires that big? i have no experience with t-cases. that's quite a lift... do you have any damage pics??
  14. wow... 7 grand. my motor isn't gonna last much longer. my driver side timing belt tensioner came lose, but not so lose that it skipped a tooth... I think it came loose enough to NOT power the oil pump... cuz it started "knocking" aka "smacking the timing belt covers" as everyone calls it... EXCEPT I have no covers. so i concluded that the knock my motor developed at idle was probably because of the tensioner coming lose. either that or it could be piston slap? either way it's not running very healthy. but it'll hit 7 grand too! lol. I also ran it too retarded for quite a while, like 2000 miles?... cuz I had no idea that not properly setting the timing would hurt anything.
  15. that was the wheel and tire together. doesn't really matter cuz yeah... it has to weigh more than 1500 pounds.
  16. where did you get the stuff you used to spray the fuel pump? and did you clean everything up really well before spraying it? i could probably use that "upgrade." lol.
  17. 50 for each wheel? weighed a 13" steelie... 26 pounds. I would imagine the aluminum ones would be lighter? 52lbs for the rear diff with fluid and hanger, 35lbs for front bumper. 15lbs for front driver side axle. those are the only parts I had laying around. would a 5spd d/r tranny weigh more than an ej series auto?? you sure the rear seat weighs 60lbs? have you ever weighed it??
  18. wanna say hey from TN cuz there's not many soob nuts down here in the southeast... and I have no idea where that could have fallen from. I've had an ea82 apart before... but I am not familiar with any small ball bearings towards the front of the eingine. don't think there's any behind the oil pump. could very well have been buried in the gunk... and could have been from something important cuz i don't know!!! lol
  19. 97 Honda Civic, 2HGEJ6621VH534837. thank you!! i guess i'm first in line.
  20. 14" off road for $300.... sweet deal!! LEMME HAVE SOME!!!! lol. what's the offset btw??
  21. wow, it sounds NOTHING like a Subaru, lol
  22. JF2AN53B1HE403940 I went to the carfax site and it said there were 5 reports but yeah, it was like $25 to get a report. as far as I know... i'm at LEAST the 3rd person to own the car. if you can't get one no big deal. thanks a bunch. -Jordan
