  1. Another thought maybe someone else can answer on is the rubber bushings on the gear selector may be worn-out. I don't know if this would cause it not to go all the way into gear or not. Just another thought that probably dosen't have anything to do with it.
  2. If you have the habit of resting your hand on the shifter (like most people) It will begin to wear the syncronizer gear and or the drive gear it is in, and thus it will begin popping out of gear. Your local transmission shop can replace them but it can be expensive. I went to a local "pull-your-own parts" and it only cost me $50 for another trans. The other junk yard was $250 and they pull it. This is the best answer I have for you. Good luck.
  3. Yea the easyest ways to those two bolts on the bottom are with the wrench you dropped. However all good Soobie Mechanics usually have a spare. Great ones have two spares! Just to ask, Are you sure it didn't just fall behind the carb. That is one heck of a whole-shot but then again there is that theory "anything that can go wrong will". Good luck.
  4. I have always run re-mans from my local Parts+ dealer and have not had any problems. I will finaly change one out on my sisters 93' impreza this week and it has been 8 years and and almost 110,000 miles since I last replaced it. It is starting to clunck and grind a bit. I think just because the grease has broke down and finnaly burnt-up. I have been running them in several other models also in all types of driving. I think it is all personal preferance. You got to do what you and your Soobie think is best! Good luck!
  5. One of the reasons that i became so interested in them is because of the pics i saw on http://www.subarubrat.com. They just look so darned cool!
  6. I plan to do a 6 lug conversion like some others have done. I found a set of Yota wheels that are 15x6 with 3" 3/8 negative back spacing. They are a nice high polished stainless steel that looks like chrome and I got five of them for $15 ea. I realy just want the flairs to give more of a finnished look after any cutting I have to do. I kind of like the rubber ones that Monstaru found from JC Whitney. We will see. I'm still open to other Ideas.
  7. They look good A DOG. Where did you puchase them? Also what size tires are you running?
  8. Does anyone know what type of fender flairs will fit an 82 Brat. I plan to put 215/75/15 with a 4/3 BYB lift from PK. Just want to finnish the edges after I do the trimming.
  9. If you have any mechanical aptitude you should be fine. I taught my 24 year old sister how to do her 93' impreza if that gives you any idea. You should do fine with all this golden advise. Just remember bones heal and chicks dig scars!
  10. I hope to be getting my lift soon from PK at Ozified and i will see what I can do for you. What bolt info do you need? I have a 1982 brat GL.
  11. Patrick I tryed to send you a (pm) but I don't know if I did it right so I will post here as well. I also need to order a kit from you. 4x3 for my EA81 Brat W/a/c. Hit me back when you can so I can get you the $$$. Thank you Sir!
  12. Check out www.subarubrat.com and see the bumper this guy made for his Brat. You wouldn't have to worry about bumping this thing. He has a step-by-step instruction link and if you or a buddy are any good at welding go for it!!!! If not what better way to learn.
