  1. LOL.. that happened to me the first night I cranked the boost up to 12psi or so... My wife and I went to dinner that night. Took my car because I wanted to drive my freshly faster subaru.. My wife, knowing what I had done made sure to clarify "its not going to blow up oir break down is it?". I responded with "of course not. Its a subaru. Plus all work has been done by me.. what could possibly go wrong?" Nice uneventful evening.. Until we were about 2 miles from home on the way back. Got off the freeway.. heard a little 'poof'.. Car sputtered, sputtered.. Died. I coasted into a parking lot and popped the hood.. Getting the evil eye from my wife the whole time. took about 5 minutes to figure out what was wrong.. IC hose had blown off.. and about one minute to rectify the situation.. To this day she is alway hesitant to ride in my car.. asks me if its going to blow up every time she gets in..lol Anyway.. Thought I'd share that;)
  2. Theres only 3-4 people here in DFW... not likely that my car will be done by then, but if it is, I may put in an appearance.
  3. Higher compression would do it as well. Smaller Turbo Better flowing header. Not recommending any of those things specifically, but they will all cause frter spoolup
  4. Sorry, should have clarified. The issue I was having was with the gallery attached to the board.
  5. I have found that when loading more than 2-3 photos, the two steps of the upload process usually take 2-3 tries.. I get a 'no page to display' error.. go back and try again.. This is on a 3mb/s connection....512 upload I believe
  6. 1) You don't have to pull the axles to pull the motor 2) Theres an excellent tutorial by EdRach on this very subject. Search for it .. Or I will see if I can find it, it might be in the USRM 3) What did you do to make your brat AWD?.. RX trans.. maybe EJ? Unless modofied, Brats are 4WD
  7. your brat should be an EA81 car (1800 OHV) could possibly be an EA71(1600) Not sure exactly what foreign markets did as far as motors for those things. But I know they didn't use the EA82 in them.
  8. The connectors on your car, unless its a turbo, are under the hood, drivers side firewall
  9. Did you try the diagnostic connectors under the hood before reading the blinking light to get codes? Heres a good article covering the process. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/article.php?a=44
  10. No Rice here Everything in those pics will improve handling and go fast Wheels and tires are wider an lighter than the pug steelies. More rubber on the road and less power required to move it.. Helps with the Zooom! Russ.. still working on your stuff.
  11. As some of you know, my wagon has been parked for a little while. Its been awaiting some stuff with which to finish it. Heres the stuff Overview 16X7 Konig Theory Wheels with Goodyear Eagle 205/55/16s Adjustable Coilovers for a WRX. #450 front, #350 rear. 4 inch adjustment Mitsubishi TD04 13G WRX DownPipe (Not pictured, Center/midpipes and tail pipe) And finally, Stock EA82T crossover/uppipe. Aproppriately modified to accomodate a TD04 turbo A closer look There is much to do.. I'm excited. Theres also the possibility of a few new innovations that I will keep to myself for now
  12. Look at the same website .. only look at the EA81 manuals.. I know you have an EA82, but as far as I know, there should be enough valid carb info in the EA81 manuals to help you. Ebay is also a good place to get manuals
  13. Actually, I already have a nice rice cooker on order for your christmas present.
  14. Actually, IIRC, brad has the single range FT4WD trans in the RX wagon.. As do I.
  15. You don't say what you have in your turbowagon currently. If your car is already a factory turbo 5 speed, then the major componants you already have.. axles, diff, etc will work fine
  16. As was stated before, what is 'best' depends wholly on your application.
  17. yup.. even cheapie water pumps usually have a decent warranty and will last a couple years.
  18. Gen 1 - EA82 Gen 2 - EA82 with an underline Gen 3 - EA82 in a box. If he paid $670, I hope they are plated in gold. Fresh rebuilt heads that have been reinforced to be stronger than stock are about $365 a pair. IIRC, that was with valves and everything being new. Again.. it doesn't matter what he paid.. If the condition is unknown, they aren't worth much of anything.
  19. in unknown condition, they aren't worth much..I would probably give $25-$30 for the pair. I have seen known good gen 3 heads go for around $125-$150 a number of times
  20. Thats exactly what that means. We are board members and must act with appropriate decorum. That does not include playing in tree forts. Its not as though this is some silly rump roast club. Now grow up and take down that 'No girls Allowed' sign
  21. Uhh.. guys.. Anyone notice the guy who started the thread hasn't been back? I think you scared him off:lol:
  22. Relax man... It took most of us quite a while to get our pugs.. its not like they are just falling out of the sky Try posting in the marketplace forum.. thats where the other 6000 or so people here go to buy and sell stuff
  23. It is ricey..I mean.. oh my god.. that scoop!! what where you thinking?!!??
