They aren't fast at all EA82T 111-115Hp.. depending on what year you get ~135 TQ Not terribly fast, but fun. With some work, they can be quick.. I have yet to see a fast one though

blower quit working...couple questions
calebz replied to teasdam's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Even with a blown resistor pack, the highest speed should still work. -
The FSM (1988 EA82) actually does say to warm the car up then retorque(not between torque steps, but after the third stage). There are lots of conflicting opinions on its necessity though.

Brad, this is a family forum.. Keep your "man-ness" to yourself:lol: -
One of the reasons for using the WRX TD04 is that the coolant lines, oil lines and flanges are similar enough to our cars that it almost bolts right on from the get-go. The others will not. That said, I believe the dodge caravan turbo has a TD04 as well. I have been told the older volvos have TD04s as well, but I have a couple of older volvo turbos and they are both equipped with a Garrett T3. I wonder what years they came with the TD04

The past couple years here in the states have not been good for the Accell coils.. I , and many others have used them onlly to have them crap out at the most inconvenient times..(70 miles away from home for me) Search for 'dead accell' and that will probably net you some interesting stories, along with some explanations.

Those wheels are Konig Theory 16x7.. They run about $100 each new.. I picked them up from a local Subaru tech that was trading his car in. 78turbobrat.. get your rump roast over here and pick up that engine hoist so we can finish those volvos.. Can't finish the Wagon until the volvos are done

Anything will fit if you want it bad enough. It won't just bolt on, you will have to make some custom IC piping for it. But then again, you would have to do that for any IC you use. Is the one you are considering an Air/Air IC or an Air/Water IC?

He probably already has a 3.90.. It seems kinda hit and miss with the autos though. Russ, I'm not exactly sure how long the swap took.. I did the motor, tranny, interior, sunroof, wheels and a bunch of other stuff all at the same time. Took about a week. A couple of tips. When doing the pedal box, REMOVE THE STEERING COLUMN.. don't just drop it down, take it out. Will save you hours.. Downside is you won't have as much opportunity to invent new swear words. PB4WD and FT4WD w/difflock trannies have a vacuum canister thing on the side of the trans..That thing is a pain in the rump roast. Its actually easier to put the trans in from the top, so if you are doing stuff with your motor, do it all at once. Tools needed.. 10,12,14,17mm sockets and wrenches 36mm socket, 3/16 punch (I actually use an old 3/16 drillbit..lol.. I lost my punch and have used this bit on about 10 axles now with no troubles).. Lets see.. assorted pliers and stuff. Jack and stands..I always have 6 on hand.. Pickle fork is nice to have, as well as a clutch alignment tool. Neither are absolutely necessary, but can save some frustration and time. I guess thats about it..

Mid 90's Integra VS. 88' RX..& Thanks!
calebz replied to DrKrazy's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Having owned 2 of the 3 cars listed above(prelude was actaully an 87), I will agree. The 87 Turbowagon will definately outperform those cars.. for about 2 feet. -

hopefullly, your "fun", will take care of that request of yours, and only involve you. Ding Ding Ding Winner Street racing is bad. Street racers are a danger to everyone and should be dealt with accordingly. Oh.. and stock old Subarus are slow anyway Take it to the track or do the world a favor and either sell your car or wrap it around a telephone pole. -
Yup. EA81 uses a VF4(?) EA82 uses a VF7

Are any of the idiot lights coming on when the trouble starts? That sounds somewhat similar to some trouble I had when my alternator started dying. -
Not sure on the length, but the threads are M11x1.25

EA82T Exhaust questions
calebz replied to TheSubaruJunkie's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
The downpipe won't fit unless you update the turbo Beyond that, I don't know.. WRX stuff will fit, to a certain extent though -
I have done the 3AT to 5 speed swap.. not too bad. I wouldn't recommend the 3AT to 4EAT swap.. It can be done, but the 4 speed is an electronic transmission with its own computer and wiring harness. More of a pain than its worth IMO.
