  1. I second that, a picture would be extremely helpful.
  2. That is exactly what I was wondering about. Its weird that that speaker used to work with no interference, and now it picks some up. I haven't added any high load wires near there either. Its really weird. I'll try to tackle that re-wire job tomorrow and see if it helps. Thanks
  3. How did you get the wires to the door? Trying to get the wires through the rubber conduit-ish thing that all the other wires go into seems kinda difficult.
  4. Anyone else have any ideas about how to eliminate the problem? Everything works fine when car is off, nasty static on drivers side speaker when car is on. The weird this is that back when I installed the speakers and headunit, this didn't happen. It started a couple of months after the installation. Hhhmmm.....
  5. Ya, no brake fluid on the floor. How much were the new lines operose?
  6. So I bled my brakes acouple weeks ago and they did feel firmer and didn't sink as low but now they are back to where they were before (if not worse). The pedal sinks a couple of inches and only gets firm (which is still pretty mushy) about an inch from firewall, kinda scary! I don't think my reflexes are fast enough to yank on the e-brake if I had to so I really want to get these fixed!! So I've established that bleeding the brakes doesn't fix the problem and I've checked hill holder which is fine. Where should I look next? I know master cylinders don't usually go out but is it worth a shot?
  7. Meh, I just soldered the busted parts of the coil back together. Haven't had a problem yet. I was gunna measure resistance and put some solid state resistors in there but I am lazy and the fast fix hasn't busted yet.
  8. Ok, so they do rub a bit in the front (enough to hear) when I turn sharply but I don't really want to cut the fenders (rust magnet). Will the tires be alright if they rub every now and then in the front or should I just bite the bullet and start trimming?
  9. Nope, nothing like that. Everything is stock. Could shielded speaker wires help?
  10. I don't mind not having a sig. I didn't have anything important in it anyway. I think that it is ultimately up to the mods to decide what goes on in here and I respect their decision. Also, not having sigs definitely cleans the place up. We can now see all the posts without having to scroll through 20 lines of sigs and 56k users can see the posts faster. Just my $0.02
  11. Ya, I'll try that. One more thing to ponder about, the static noise only occurs when the engine is running. When the engine is off, no problems at all.
  12. Not even sure if this is remotely related to the problem NewDriver is having but I have a JVC 200w stereo with Pioneer speaks and just recently my drivers side door speaker developes a static sound when turned up above half volume (like 25ish out of 50). I've checked all wiring, everything is fine and pass. side speaker is fine. Its rrrrreeeaaalllyyy annoying.
  13. So the brake booster was the culprit?? I still have the same problems with mine, just bled them too and in the right sequence. No noticable change except that the pedal is a wee nibbin higher, but it still sinks to the floor with pressure. Should I have a local mechanic check out the brake booster????
  14. I think that is the common place to trim fenders. LOTS of other lifted soobs or soobs with bigger wheels/tires have to trim there because thats where the wheels hit when turning. I don't think many people trim in the back, usually no need to if you don't get wheels that are too big or if you have a nice lift. There arn't really any consequences except maybe a little rust attack if you don't properly prime/paint exposed metal.
  15. They don't even rub when you are turning sharply? Maybe brat suspension/wheel well shape is different but I know I will have to trim a little out of the front fender to eliminate rubbing when turning sharply.
  16. Thanks. I did find out that I will probably need to trim off a little slice on both the fenders directly in front the the tires. With the added width of the tires, any tight-ish turn yields some rubbing. I'll get on that tomorrow . . .
  17. Offset isn't too bad. In the front they don't stick out much more than like .5" from the fender. Hardly noticeable unless you are looking straightdown from above. Offset in the back is a little more, just still not bad at all. I just got back from a test run and the only time anything rubbed was in the front when I made a sharp turn but that was just rubbing the wheel well gaurd thingy. No rubbing in the back (yet) The only thing I REALLY need to do is bleed my brakes, stopping power has been severly diminished because my brakes are so weak. (Pedal sinks to the floor wicked bad).
  18. Alright, I had the afternoon off from school so I decided to finally mount my pugs. they look pretty good online but they look 9999999% better in real life, I almost soiled myself they looked so good. Now, I was alittle nervous about rubbing and I haven't had her out for a REAL test, but as far as I can see, rubbing hopefully WON'T be a problem. I have about 1.5 inches and even tho I haven't flexed it out yet, I am pretty sure the wheels would move up more than forward. This is clearance in the back. Another pic of clearance on other side: Not worried at all about rubbing issues in the front: If anyone is curious, the tires are 195/60/15 (24.2" diameter vs. 22.1" stock diameter) Nokian Hakkapaliitta 1's on the pug 15" flat eight spokes. Like I said, it looks SSSOOO good sitting in my driveway, I knew they would look good, but not this good!!!! Let me know what you think!
  19. Hmm, driving around in circles didn't seem to work. I think I'll just take it to a local auto place and have them pound the bejesus out of them, they seem pretty good on there. Also, by the wear of my tires I am pretty sure they haven't been rotated for the whole life of them so I imagine those rear wheels haven't been off in years.
  20. Hey MSSL, is your t-wagon lifted? Just curious
  21. Logging trucks in Maine are crazy and they run 24/7!!! I do a lot of rally-type driving on logging roads in the summer and there is nothing scarier then seeing a logging truck barreling around a corner straight for you. CBs don't help much, they usually don't talk. You just gotta keep your eyes down and make sure you don't get to far sideways goin' around the big corners and leave your self enough time to straighten out and get out of the way.
