Ok, My car will start but I wont be able to touch the Gas pedal or it will die. but If I pump it twice then start its fine it idles up to 2200 and sits there until she warms up... then she idles between 1100 and 700 depending on how the car is sitting. Its a hicrappy carb. but here is the strange thing. I stoped the car last night and turned it off ran in the front of my complex to get mail. I start the car and go... I turn the corner and she dies. I start it back up and it dies when I take my foot off of the gas.. so I readjust the idle screw and she's idling again! its like a phantom Idle screw. I'm confused all my problems started with The gas station at Walmart in renton. should I seafoam? or maybe some CRC Carb cleaner? or even some Lucas Fuel injection cleaner? anyhow Someone please help....

My transmission is starting to make noises in my 81 wagon... and its the 4 speed... So I have tommorrow off and some extra money so I was wondering how hard it would be to do a 5 speed dual range swap?? What do I all need? and do I have to change the clutch?? or rebuild cvs?
-
WHY????? Is that the one I got my carb off of? THats sad..

If this is an Air bubble I'm gonna be pissed... but I can understand that so Park the Car on a hill.. run it at 3000rpm and Watch for it to drop?

my 81 wagon has an overheating problem and I'm not sure what is causing the problem. I done the thermostat, waterpump and a flush. It stays at temp when driving even below temp sometimes. and When I'm stoped at a flat or down hill it seems to stay at temp. But when I'm sitting at a stop on a hill that is when I notice that I'm starting to overheat. now I'm open to possibly having to do the Head gaskets or change the radiator I just don't want to do both. Now here is the thing... When it says its overheating Both Temp gauges. I will get out and Touch the radiator and it is touchable. I can put my hand on it and let it sit there but the hoses are hot. Its done this since this winter when the car was sitting and it froze up. but its just recently gotten to the point were I'm worried. I'm in canada right now. so I don't want to fix it here but when I get back I'm heading to portland. So if anyone around has a spare radiator let me know. because I don't want to do a head gasket. Helicoil exhaust header bolts on a loyale?
xoomer replied to Milemaker13's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I found that worked on my EA81 is a tap and die kit to m10x1.5 and some matching studs of the dorman section at any Auto parts store with some red locktite that seems to work pretty well. -
so that's where all my oil was going
xoomer replied to Subaru_dude's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Don't worry it happens to the best of us. I remember the first time I blew a ea82T head gasket.. it blew out next to the compression chamber and man it sucked. -
Resealing head lamps (loyale buglense)
xoomer replied to sube92's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
What I found works is Permatex Sealant Flowable Windshield Silicone available at Checker Shucks Kragen And Murrays, and probably elsewere, and seal it up that way because that head lamp has a drain built in on the back.. My .02 xoomer
