want to do minor lift on 99 legacy need input
parts list= 1. subaru to be lifted 2. new or used struts to be the lifters (in your case, 4 new OB shocks+OB springs?) front struts will bolt in. I think all EJ years and types are interchangeable as far as bolt pattern top and bottom) 3. Rear strut caps/hats might be different. its up to you to buy these with your new struts... I used the old ones off my car cause the bolt pattern was different on the new ones, so the old ones just went on the new struts and they bolted on the car. you will not need new camber bolts unless yours are damaged... just re-use the old ones unless you feel like putting new ones in for the heck of it hope this helps! dont worry- the swap is pretty easy- the height comes from the 1. strut bottom length and 2. new capable tire height with the new strut height (aka, you can now put larger sidewall tires on and gain a little height here too)

SJR Ultimate offroader project
Looks like a project I want to kinda sorta do.. only I am still driving the car I would be doing it to see you at the show right? I can tell you more about my idea later yes... EJ22 is the way to go.. forget that EA stuff carbs suck! besides.. with the EJ coilpack instead of a disty, think of all the trouble free water crossings! I should know.. I have tested it! (although timing belt bearings dont hold up after a few months from being dipped under iron silt water)

want to do minor lift on 99 legacy need input
I would buy outback struts, and the springs to go with them... this will give you the height that you want.. the 15" rims dont have to be changed.. there are lots of tires available for that size wheel.. I have an impreza L wagon, and I put 99 forester struts and springs on it (the only mod needed was the rear strut cap needed to be swapped, so the install was forester front strut complete- and the rear was a forester strut+forester spring+impreza rear cap) this gave me lots of lift.. and I can now run 215/75 R15 BFG A/T tires- see in the pic this might be too much for what you want, but all you would have to do is get some more reasonable sized tires.. like the stock outback or forester sizes... 205/70R15 approx... tire tread up to your choice

in case anyone is interested... I decided to burn a few more copies of my "Subaru Offroad" DVDs, and the ones from WCSS7 and WCSS6 too, so I will have a few of these at the show for sale... probably $5 ea, or "donation" amounts... cause I'm not a vendor 'n stuff but either way, I will be bringing some of the good footage, and my compter for viewing, was someone planning to bring a projector? See you all at the show!!! now I just need to remember to bring the video camera....

impreza's only....
I have a 94 imp wagon, with the 5spd awd, wich makes it a 4.11 due to year (and used to have an EJ18, now is EJ18/22 hybrid= EJ18 intake+exhaust, EJ22 longblock) the stock 5spd AWD, is not low enough geared to do anything good offroad by comparison to the 4EAT or the EA 5spd D/R... especially with my 27" BFG AT tires I would like to see some fabbing (at least more than whats available now) of lift kits (similar to the PK easy to install and just as high quality) and the adaptor kit (plate EA-EJ and flywheel and crossmember to match.) other than that the bumpers, skid plates, roofracks, light racks are pretty simple fabbing that anyone should be able to do with some stuff from the scrap yard or local hardware store/home improvement center here is my imp.. few shots, some of them out of date, but you get the idea lighting kinda sucks, but you can see the metal bumper and pvc tube rack up top need lift! need DR!

1100cc motorcycle engine and tranny in a justy?
most of the modern cruisers from honda, ect are shaft drive.. the bmw boxer is shaft (and a 2 cyl boxer ) but your only looking to get about 100 to 150 HP from a motorcycle engine i would find a wreked hayabusa, and try to get that chain driven thing to bolt up somehow.. it could be done.. just build a sproket adaptor somewhere in the car.. or build a front diff that is chain driven... I still thing a justy might be too heavy for even a fast bike engine?

Picture albums are uploaded.... :)
I still think we should get a "media" or "photos n videos" sub forum here.. but I guess I cant do it, being I am not a moderator n stuff... but.. I can post my pictures from a gallery, and I guess meet n greet will have to do for now, as it has the whole time!.... so for those of you who are interested, I have uploaded many of my pictures online, lots to the USMB gallery.. but I recently started using smugmug.com (not free, but its a very nice img hoster!) and I just uploaded some top picks from WCSS6 and WCSS7, along with some evans creek stuff and some other pics (like, people pictures, and my motorcycle trip cross country, with lots of scenery pictures too!) I am not going to overload the bandwidth on the board, but I will pass along this link, and I might post a picture or 2 here sometime soon if i can think of any good ones but heres my gallery for those who want to check it out! (its pretty simple, i have the albums labeled...) enjoy!

new swap in the drive way... RX-RA
yep... so before anyone else makes this mistake, please review your VIN number, and then you will know the correct engine/body designation of your car, and thus not upsetting Dr RX mine is a GF2 (1st gen wagon, EJ18) anywho, that will be one cool swap! do you think you are getting it done before the show??

Evans Creek today in the imp, took 311 alone...
oh yeah, the part on 311 that was the hardest part for us subarus, is even harder now.. due to erosion from trucks and weather, ect.... it was hard going down!
