  1. well, not the best of days for me.. got some work to do on the impreza to make it better on the trails- but heres the pics from todays little trip... next time i go out, I want to hit up Reiters, whos up for that?
  2. so whats the plan? anyone going at a particular time? I never did any repairs to my car.. but its still driveable, and I have the motorcycle all fixed up in case of a car-tastrophy (so i can get to work, blah blah) I might be down to show up for part of one of the days.. maybe run the imp up 311 or something
  3. ohhh! i bet a dumpster might hold up a little better.. but I think even a H6 wagon would have issues with *that* much weight
  4. heres when I met up with A-Dog, in Bozeman, MT.... note how loaded down the impreza is.. (driving from Minneapolis to Seattle!)
  5. i might be in as long as job/house related things dont take up my time... and Noah, come show me your bike! we should go riding sometime oh and yeah.. I need to get a DOJ boot fixed before I do any off pavement driving... dont want to ruin my axle
  6. the only thing i need to do is hook up the trailer, its all loaded!
  7. when i was recycling parts off old subarus, i would try to save anything that was still useable, like straight body panels, or suspension parts that would be bent or damaged while offroading (A arms, moustache bars) things that are still rebuildable or could be used as cores (brake calipers, axles, ect) but thats a good that more people are recycling though
  8. monday night (well, 1am tuesday morning) I fly back to MN, to get the impreza and all my other belongings too in the trailer! so sometime thru that week, I will be passing thru ND or SD? along I-90/I94 all the way thru MT, ID and E-WA to home.... so if anyone wants me to meet up with them, let me know before I head out on my big journey! (again!) see you folks on the road
  9. seems like everyone is doing their harness a different method than what I used.. so its going to be hard for me to assist online, but I may be able to come take a look one of these days here when I get some time.. I used only the EA starter wire, and changed nothing in the EA harness (just disconnected it, and removed the coil I also hardwired the fuel pump to ign. so that it was just on when the car was switched on.. wired the main harness power to the hot lead that went to the coil (ign "on" ) and that made it so when i turned on the key, the EJ harness was powered and "on" and then turned the key, and the EA start wire still turned the starter then it worked!
  10. I'm home now!!!!!! feels good to be back in the clouds n mountains! see you all soon.. i need to rest and service the bike now (overdue for some oil n chain adjustments...) total trip milage added up today= 4390 miles from Minnesota to Washington, start time june 10 630am, to june 21 130pm!!!! pictures on the way.. as soon as i can get a high bandwidth host!!
  11. I see me!!! oh.. so tonight I am in a hotel with wi-fi, in Flagstaff, AZ... didnt make much time today, we did a bunch of sight seeing today, including a Subaru 360 pickup for sale just outside of Phoenix, off of I-17!!!! (I took pics, will post them later) tomorrow I will be heading up to the Grand Canyon, and then over to Vegas, then Death Valley so far between Grand Junction, CO and here, there have been soo many offroad looking areas I think I will need to come back to Moab, UT!!!! who wants to do a offroad adventure??? anywho- see ya soon!
  12. ok, this will probably be my last post on the board for this month (unless something happens and I find a wifi spot along the way) I am leaving MN on saturday (the 10th june) on the motorcycle, on my 3500+ mile trip down towards Phoenix and then up the coast to Seattle where I drop off the bike and meet up with Carl, then we both hitch a ride on a greyhound bus back to MN.. to get the imp with the trailer, and roadtrip it back home via I-90! check out my myspace blog to get the trip itenerary (not completly accurate, but pretty close) blog.myspace.com/ratty2austin/ see you guys back in the northwet!!! est. arrival back home fully= july 8th
  13. OMG!! did they re-open it????? SWEEETT!!!! I have video of my first subaru and I bombing around in there back before I knew about the board, and before they closed it down the first time.. back in '99!
  14. yep... you should see the same combo roll thru.. the imp with a trailer fill of crap.. but this time I may have a friend along for the ride, and I have a few more mods done to the car and the trailer (a lid, so we dont need the tarp this time lol) once I am established again in WA... i should be able to make some actual motnana trips for visits n such later in the year, next year... ect..
  15. Carl and I will have to meet up with ya this june if your around (probably the 28th/29th) when we are heading thru montana.... looks pretty nice! lots different then when I saw it when I was there last time...

holy crap! where did you get swampers for under 100 bucks each???? hook me up mine was about equal... impreza= $395+tax/reg 215/75 R15 BFG A/Ts @ 110 ea mounted (approx)
  17. soudns like fun.. although, for me- i will be leaving at the beginning of june..... so in may, or anytime from now, i will need to clear out all my old subaru parts and other misc things... chux- i think I have a few things for you- we will need to chat about them would anyone like to do the bbq in excelsior at the beach? its a pretty nice park random weekends this month?
  18. this year i think I will be towing my cargo trailer to the show, with the imp.. so I will have lots of room for parts for sale, or parts bought.. or camping gear/food/cooking supplys or.. whatever! and Jibs.. ya gotta be at the show... its gonna be a party!!!! and whats a party without you? ps.. I am packing soon to head back to Seattle... heading out of here in June
  19. my impreza (with snorkel) DID float.... with some more mods.. I am going to see about making it float for a longer duration as for the electronics and carb stuff in a brat, it is a bit complicated to seal up... disty, carb intake and coil... not too much to worry about!
  20. yep.. fried it I bet..Ive heard storys exactly like this from some subaru mechanics.. running with mis-matched tires, or in your case a low tire.. (aka, one tire has a different circumference) would do something along the lines of "welding" the vc up.. in a way... better than breaking it, and causing a no-wheel-drive situation though! sounds like its time to upgrade the tranny now! (dual range? )
  21. I will be passing thru montana sometime between june 25 and july 5th (passing by 2 times once heading east, then back west) plans are not locked in, but it will happen around then for sure... I will post again when i get some dates set
  22. dont the baja's still use the 00-04 OBW style dash and stereo cluster? (aka, double-din size replaceable head units ) I think it does....
  23. spy pics from yesterday....
  24. so i was browsing the local junkyard with John yesterday, and we came across many subarus..but one that looked particularly nice (except for the drivers side front) was a 96 OBS... with some aftermarket leather seats!!!(and a rear cargo mat+clean OEM floormats) so.... I will let the pictures do the rest of the talking remove old.... install new.... mmmm...that new-used car smell
  25. the temp guage and oil pressure are pretty easy...the EJs sender works with the dash in the EA (with slight changes...) if you can find a threaded adaptor with an angle or something to get the EA pressure sender onto the EJ sender fitting, then your set... (its under the alternator on the EJ22) as for the temp sender.. on my EJ swap it seemed to be offset..(it still read, it just read cold?) but it works, or you could just install your EA sensor into the EJ water manifold... the tach is something different though.. on the EA car it runs off the disty, so you would need to make a pickup sensor or something and attach it to plug wire 1 (like a sensor in a timing gun/light) ...or get the aftermarket tach thats larger than your dash cluster
