  2. welll, not much to it just a bunch of 2x4ish tube...(still needs some more parts but its on the car now.... and I have pics i still need to mount the new mini-turn signals (they will go on the top of the bar, so they wont easily get squished... and I need to find a better way to attach my license plate-instead of zip ties!
  3. if y'all could move the party to the weekend of the 18/19th.. I could be there too! (yes, I will be in town, and I would like to see ya guys too) or...have 2 parties?
  4. I belive I have fallen for the same mistake look at the up-side though, now you have a new starter, and a spare!
  5. here is my 94 imp L wagon.... forester struts from a 99- and 215/75R15 BFG all terrains I am still waiting on my purchase of a lift kit, and tranny swap (4wd D/R) to see who has the best kit for the buck... or making it myself (we are all money savers here ) otherwise, for how easy the strut swap is.. it has pretty good results for the money... and it will work with a lift down the road too when I get mine
  6. were flying in friday eve, sunday is dinner at the parents, and monday afternoon we depart... the other days are open for visits or partys! as long as we visit the UW (need to tour the dorms for freddie) and I look around and get an idea for homes w/garages for rent... (for when i move back too) I would like to hang out and visit people when i am there, so maybe we could have a meet up somewhere? party?
  7. I got a new cover for the rear cargo area! a trip to the metal yard, and about 20 bucks.....
  8. here is the EJ18 as it sits right now.... still a good running engine, but only puts out about 100 or 110ish HP... good HGs! good bearings, good heads!
  9. got it swapped in less than 5 hours!!! ingredients= EJ22 longblock+EJ18 manifold, + EJ22 injector rails/injectors more power! pics and more info coming later! EJ18 for sale now! (longblock only, good cond~$120)
  10. woohoo!! hmmm.. i must be the off one out again.. I liked shelton over the "grass field" :-p but oh well, its a cool place anyway! sweet! by then I should have more mods done, and I should be all moved back in too!
  11. ok no fair.. i think I need to go even deeper (even though, i floated which makes mine the deepest, so far on video) but I cant test it furthur... at least not in this state.. everything is ICE! just give me a few more months.. I will give it the mega test but your video was still cool  so how about that adaptor plate?
  12. yeah... I got bored today.. so I sorted most of my pictures in my section of the USMB gallery http://usmb.net/gallery/albuo36 most of you probably have seen all these already... but for those who havent... enjoy! and I hope it is easier to go thru them now
  13. yay!!!! when I get back I plan to go play there lots hopefully people wont screw it up for everyone...
  14. i will see if i can fix the second video clip tonight when i get home, and I will see about possibly uploading it as a different format too- brian, if yor on aim, i will IM you, maybe I can have you convert it to WMV for some of the people
  15. here is the first video clip... this was the test run with the snorkel at Gilbert ORV park http://usmb.net/albums/album216/imprezamuddunk.mov *edit* I moved them to the "duluth offroad" album, and I cant seem to get the second video clip working yet... update will be soon
  16. no spacers....
  17. all the EJ18s as far as I have ever seen are dual port.. and all EJ22s are dual port up to 96.5ish (then they switched to phase2 EJ22) I would like to use the EJ22 manifold.. I am going to experement with the wireing, wich means I am heading back to the junkyard and pulling an intake, or at least just the wires from a matching impreza.. so that I can prefit everything before i try to do it with no running car... (btw, i got the imp going again for temporary on the EJ18..) got permission from the boss at work to do all the work in the shop after I get off the clock (yay for warm shop and lift!) so I am gonna tear down the EJ22 first, and replace all the need-to-replace parts including HGs (just to be safe) as far as buying my EJ18 subylvr2122- you can! if you want.. once this whole thing is complete, i will let you know whats left (most likley a longblock with intake?) the longblock is in very nice shape, it just will need new belt pullys, seals, ect.. but the crank/cam and heads are in great shape i will probably do 120 bucks+shipping for the EJ18 once the EJ22 is in and working well.... side note- one of the mnsubaru guys at my work has a 96 imp L with the phase2 EJ22, and he is running a 99 OBW EJ25 ECU.. he said it plugged in and works?! (although he gets a CEL with codes for the EGR and i assume the second cam sensor) I dont belive him 100% but he is pretty knowledgable as for the EGR resistor, does anyone know the resistance@ normal operating temp? thanks for the advice, everyone! keep it coming  I think I will start doing some write-ups when I am done so people will know what works
  18. ive done the EA to EJ before, but this will be my first EJ to EJ :-p car- 94 impreza AWD 5spd EJ18 with EGR, no AC... engine bought yesterday from junkyard out of 93 legacy wagon 4EAT, non-EGR, AC (removed by me) boils down to having a longblock EJ22 with most of its manifold parts in tact.. and I belive i need to put new HGs on it just to be safe, and all the other parts as well... (pumps, reseal gaskets, plugs, ect...) i am going to just re-use my flywheel and clutch for the mean time, cause I plan to get the DR swap soon so my question, is should I use my manifold on the EJ22 longblock? (remember the EGR plumbing) so that my electronics line up? or... should I use my EJ18 wire harness, and install it on the sensors that are in the EJ22 manifold....? just seeing if anyone has done this before with sucess... also, if anyone is selling spare parts for these engines, i am in the market!
  19. my gas milage- EJ18, 5MT AWD impreza wagon, 31mpg this summer across ND (all the way across in one tank!) ... current MPG around town (commute to work) 21-24mpg approx turbo XT back when i "commuted" to euegene OR from seattle- also 31mpg (325miles on one tank!!) but i have had some.. not so good MPG ratings... (83 wagon with poorly-tuned weber= 3mpg ) that was a bad day, stuck choke!)
  20. man! that is a nice looking hatch!!! I would buy it up, and give it an EJ swap then it would run nice AND look nice  dont give up on it, it can be very frustrating- I know, ive been there before with all my EA cars... carby power is hard to get to work good (unless your a carb guru!) so good luck, and may the board be with you
  21. you mean this kid? hey, i take it you got your wagon fixed?
  22. of course you can see them here http://usmb.net/gallery/view_album.php?page=13 (and a bunch are in the firestone @ st paul album on that same page) most of the pics were from last night and earlier this week.... the basket was a sweet find, it fits right into the tubes on my rack, which makes it like it was meant to be!!
  23. lol!! i know that car- i got a lot of video of him at WCSS7! I dont remember what his board name is though
  24. which part of the harness does the knock sensor plug into on a '99 EJ25?? I need to replace the plug that the knock sensor plugs into, but I dont know if its part of the manifold harness, or the body harness, or a small section? anyone that can take a peek under their hood, please let me know soon! thanks!!! trying to get this car done asap, but having trouble finding a plug!
  25. sweet! i will try to get some videos posted later this month or next month, as soon as the lakes are save to drive on (expect a large group of subarus doing massive spins and drifts!) where was that at?
