  1. I know there are many folks modifying their EA82-chassis Subarus for style or performance. Miata shocks with coilover sleeves, legacy and impreza coilover kits, etc. These all require some level of modification to install, an issue I've recently run into with my own project car. This lead me to develop a few parts to allow a bolt-in installation of a set of coilovers to the EA82 chassis. Without going into specifics my thought is a 12-piece kit to retrofit a set of coilovers for a legacy or late-model impreza coilover kit that would allow you to simply bolt the legacy/impreza parts to your 5-lug-swapped EA82, without cutting, drilling or welding anything, reusing all your original hardware. My question is, is this something that would interest you? I'm currently prototyping parts for myself, but if there is enough interest, I'll have some extras made at the same time. I've got a few photos up on my Instagram page: @templeoffuji
  2. Hey all, just recently joined this forum. My name is Matt and i recently purchased a 2010 Legacy 2.5i Premium and i've slowly been molding it into a vehicle i'm proud to show off. With that said, my next priority is a new set of shoes and some coilovers to close that horrendous wheel well gap we have. I've been poking around online and my head is about to explode with all of the (mis)information and opinions regarding wheel/tire size for these cars. I'll make my question simple... I want to run 18" wheels, simple enough, but I can't seem to find a straight answer on what exactly will fit without major modification. If I go 18, what width and offset do I need to shoot for, and what tire dimensions would work best with said wheel (not interested in the stretched look)? And to answer the question if my suspension is or will be modified, yes, i'd like to go with coilovers and lower it an inch or two, so that should be taken into account. Suggestions welcome for brand/model as well. Thanks for any input you folks have!
  3. Hi, just picked up a 92 Legacy for cheap($250) running/driving, no immediate issues or problems. Except who ever had it before the guy I got it from had cut the springs to lower it & its a rough ride. My mission is to just fix it up a little bit and turn it for a profit then hopefully do it again, but here's my question: OEM Springs are a little more then cheap-o Ebay coilover sleeves, so I wanted to know what ya'll thought about putting 'em to the stock shocks without lowering them? Cause the sleeves are cheaper than the springs & since Im selling it it then gives the new owner a choice of ride height, tho it'd be sacrificing quality of ride. To each his own I suppose. That being said what, Whats your opinion/feelings on the subject? Thanks in advance
  4. How in the bloody hell do I uncover the rear strut towers in my 90 wagon? am trying to remove struts and put on coil sleeves. where the codswalloping codswallop is the magic button that uncovers the tops?
  5. So.....We had a week of deep snow here on the valley floor. And no plows. Not a problem for me at all. Mostly. I did have a problem when I crossed a set of railroad tracks going pretty fast........the road had 6" of snow on it....the tracks had been cleared and had none.... It was like dropping into a 6" deep ditch, and then blasting back up out of it at 30+ mph.......My brand new Struts/shocks were not happy. Espescially the rear right one......the spring perch blew off the bottom and the car was riding about 4" low on the side. Here is the repair Works great....I may use this method to make some long travel coilovers for my EA81 wheeler!!!
