June 16, 201114 yr If it's off an '88 hatch, sure... if it's aything else, it will be a FI disty... of course you didn't say if you sill ad the '78 engine or not Lets assume hes not pulling the disty off a beautiful hatch and it is simply an ea82. In that case the answer would be no.
June 16, 201114 yr And , correct me if I'm wrong , he's going to want the automatic for the advance curve - yes? Std. model or Hatchback - not Loyale .... he knew that.
June 17, 201114 yr Advance curve is the same between 4WD/2WD. There is no difference according to the graphs in the FSM. As stated - anything other than a Hatchback will be fuel injected and thus will not work. GD
June 17, 201114 yr anything other than a Hatchback will be fuel injected '85 thru mid '87 you've got carb'd "Loyales" .... FYI.
June 18, 201114 yr but he mentioned it was off a 88. I'm just letting GD know about something in relation to what he offered. Pay attention please.
June 18, 201114 yr Can you use the distributor off a 1988 subaru on your 1978 subaru? Any ideas welcome.. Yea, we need more information! While we're at it...The NIPONDENSO carb distributor has two governor springs and 2 flyweights. I've swapped out many of those both...just not on a Subaru before. Generally speaking, heavy cars and automatic transmissions use a different advance then manual trans and lighter weight.
