New From Spokane WA

Featured Replies

Hi, I have been reading the board for a couple of weeks now. I was wondering if there were any from Spokane WA.

Thanks,

Michael Carey, KD7GHZ

if you can make it to montana/idaho border area the weekend of march 20-21, the SUBARU ALLIANCE will be there to rescue a trashwagon, all of to be documented on film, if you would like to be a part of that, let me know

I go to WAZZU in Pullman and spend most of my weekends up in Suncrest and Nine Mile, so i'm in spokane alot! We should all get together sometime... prove those western washington kids that they aren't the only ones! ;)

Palouse Rider lives just north of Spokane but you won't see him post much.

Thats great, maybe we could get together sometime. I am busy with Boy Scouts, bowling or ham radio on weekends but we could work something out.

Also, I thought Alaska was part of Spokane, HA HA HA.

Thanks,

Michael

Baccaruda lives in Spokane, you probably know him. He's usually busy with Boy Scouts too.

Spokane is okay if you like being snowed in in the winter and sunburned in the summer. I like it better here on the west side of Washington. I know someone in Spokane who got a WRX this summer but he isn't on the board so I guess nobody really cares! Anyway, welcome!

I live out in the valley near felts field. I work at the UPS Store on 57th.

Anybody out there a ham.

Michael, KD7GHZ

what kind of subaru do you have? the ham radio reference is making my brain itch. I don't ham but is your car a light blue hatch?

  • Author

I have an 88 GL Wagon. I have a 2 meter radio in my car. In Boy Scouts I am sort of known as the Ham Radio nut. Brought 4 hams into the world.

I wouldn't travel anyware without my radio. I read about some guys in Carson City on the board who were going up into the mountains near there but got nervious when they lost cell phone range. I am very seldom out of communications range. Ham Radio gets through when everything else fails.

hm. thought i remembered your KDH or a ham reference on a blue hatch i thought i saw. i must need more coffee!

I've always wanted to get into Ham.

Andy, don't even bother. I've already made a thousand perverted comments about my own post.

but anyway, what are some good online resources about how to start?

Let me know if you want to. There is a 35 question test must get 26 right. There is even software I could loan or copy for you to help you.

Its not that difficult, heck, I did it and my whole family did it and 5 Boy Scouts.

I've been seriously thinking about doing it for a while. Do you have your General License or just Technician?

  • Author

I admit that I just a Tech, but I have learned 13 letters of morse code.

I drive a light blue hatch in and around spokane, mine has a 5th eye cut out in the grille and no shutter. I live north on hwy 2, but did work in town. I am trying to get a few subies to get together and go wheelin @ the orv in 7 mile. I also drive a silver 83 wagon. The hatch is getting a new trans right now, well yesterday and tomorrow, what do you drive

Hi, barracuda, Andy, helped me. He helped me to put in a new clutch, without, having to pull the engine out. Andy is pretty sharp, actually, he's really very very good. He did not charge me a fortune. Give him an e-mail.

Hope this helps,
