STOLEN: '95 Legacy wagon (white ) in Portland, OR

Featured Replies

A customer of mine's Nephew had his '95 White Legacy Wagon (OR plate # VGP 365) stolen today. It's also his Birthday so please keep an eye out for suspicious folks in a '95 wagon.

More info as it's given to me..... I'm told it doesn't have any identifying damage, stickers, or seat covers, etc..... which obviously makes it hard to spot. But someone likely to steal a '95 Legacy wagon probably isn't smart enough to swap the plates out.

Just hoping for a happier birthday for the guy.... any leads greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

GD

Check Craigslist and eBay over the next couple months for anyone within a couple hundred miles parting the car out.

Not much money in parting out a older Legacy, especially in the PNW.

Probably some tweakers or joy riders. It may get dumped in a few days or a week not far from where it was stolen.

Sounds about right. Hopefully they won't burn it.

Sounds like a crack head needed a ride. They will find it in a parking lot someplace out of gas.

Ill keep my eyes, out, its hard, there are quite a few around here, but I will write the License plate number down on a sticky on my dashboard and see if I spot it.

if parking long term somewhere, might want to pull some fuses and some plug wires off......seen too many of this as of recently

I got my OBW stolen at gunpoint last summer (guy with a gun, held it to my head and stole my car). Cops found it a little while later, all intact.

Mine has my old phone in it, hidden... so itll track my car

I did this on my motorcycle, it would be great till the strip it and find it, not to many hiding spots on a bike.

Which is why a smart operation would put anything they snatch into a faraday cage for transport and dissasembly.

so you pay for service on the phone you keep in your car for tracking?

Nope. Its just an app that I put on it and when I activated the app on my new phone it showed up as being like 9 feet from me and I found out it works... So might as well put it in my car so that my car doesnt disappear.

Although he has gained Garage rights though because Ive seen some jimmy marks near the gas tank, and that crap is too expensive to be letting people have.

Still havent seen that plate... Ive had my eyes out, will call you on the spot if I see it (and follow it as well)

Seems to me the app would only work if the phone had power though...

If I were going to do it I'd buy a cheap car charger, cut the cigarette lighter end off of it and splice in 12v. It would probably take three weeks for the small drain from the phone to kill the battery.
