I am looking to update my mech hand tools set. About $200 to $300 budget. Wondering how I can get the best deal?

I did look thru their website for mech tools set, all of them come with standard size which I dont need these for subaru.

Any advice???

I'm afraid they all come with the SAE stuff when you buy sets.

 

Keep your eyes open. They will be running fathers day specials soon. You missed Christmas another good sale time.

i have this set ( although its a small set ) works flawlessly and you can really torque on these wrenches.... and hit them with a BFH without a problem.... also the ratchet handle is a lil wider so comfort is definitly improved..... only thing i didnt like is that it doesnt come with a 12mm or 15mm socket.

p.s. grabs all the soob bolts without an issue..... i would try to find a 12 and 15mm of these kind of sockets so you will have a complete set....they are awesome!!!

Damn that's a pretty good budget! I got my 154 pease set for 99$ from Kmart. I've I ly had to buy a few sockets like 32 and 36mm which it didn't have. Have had a problem with it, other than break ratchets lol. But life time warrantee!

 

For 300$ you could but a pretty BA set from sears. There 20% coupons floating around too

It will take a lot of time, but if you have more time then money ( like most of us) spring cleaning will be in full force soon, and you'll be able to score some sweet deals.

 

Best part is, if you find old craftsman, snap-on, Mac, Matco, whatever, they have lifetime warranties so if you pay a little for something broken/worn out you can get it replaced for free!!

 

 

I hated garage saleing when I was younger, but I realized it was just the sales my mom went to, if you go to the more guy oriented ones there is some pretty neat stuff to be found. (silver for example, if it's real silver flatware you can do pretty well if you buy low)

Watch for sales at Sears. I have bought from them over the years where they do come SAE and metric in the same kit.

Craigslist, Ebay and other places online of course.

 

Lots of Sears/KMart stores closing around the country with store closing sales.

 

Look at Lowes at the Kobalt tools too. I like theirs as much as the Sears ones.

i agree, i have found good deals at yard sales but, what i do is fix the old tools. i think they are made better and are a little nicer. most of the time with ratchets the grease is just old and sticky. If you clean it out and re grease they work good as new.
