November 21, 201312 yr Author Got bored after school today so i decided to refinish the tailgate. I didnt remove any of the dents, but i did use aircraft remover to strip down most of the paint, amazing stuff btw, and used a wire wheel to get the entire thing down to bare metal. I couldnt get the subaru emblem off because the heads of the screws are 100% stripped, so i just taped it off. I have two coats of rustoleum automotive primer on it epright now, but it got cold enough so i could see my breath so im putting off doing the moss green until tomorrow, it will give the primer a chance to cure anyway. December 2, 201312 yr Author Finally got back from thanksgiving, got my lift kit! Its sweet! Although slightly confusing... Anyway, ive got everything soaking in pb blaster right now, get it started tomorrow! Oh and got the paint finished on the tailgate. Thats the scheme for the whole thing, should look nice! Also here are the wheel spacers i modified. Speaking of wheels, i just picked up a set of super nice chrome wheels, and another jackman! Edited January 10, 201412 yr by RustyBrat
December 4, 201312 yr Author Took my bumper and valance off today, valance is shot. Gonna have to build a cross brace for the fenders out of flatstock or something.
December 5, 201312 yr Author Sure is getting cold around here... -1 this morning. Hung up tarps over my garage because it has no door, and getting a propane heater to put in there tomorrow. Edited January 10, 201412 yr by RustyBrat
December 5, 201312 yr It was 75 here today. Supposed to drop to 19 by friday. Texas. That's a good looking green, too. Will be looking forward to seeing that all done up. When are you picking up the fender? I am curious if they are really NOS, as that would be incredible.
December 5, 201312 yr Author lucky... haha yeah i like the green too, kinda olive drab ish. whenever i can make it down to idaho falls, gas is breaking me up in business right now with no job.
December 5, 201312 yr Author okay i know this is the wrong forum for these kinds of questions but this site says i have 2 chat notifications... but when i click it it says oops something went wrong you dont have access.
December 5, 201312 yr Author Okay ive got the lift kit and hardware ready to go on, but im confused on one piece. Where does this go?
December 10, 201312 yr Author Just the tailgate so far.. Been busy figuring out the lift kit, gonna do the hood soon though. And fenders. The rest will have to wait until spring or until i find a wood heated shop, im afraid to use spray paint with a propane heater
December 10, 201312 yr Author Haha, its okay i just went down and talked to my buddy at the local airport, he has a little wood heated hangar i can use to paint, so we're golden!
December 10, 201312 yr Author so the lift blocks for the front crossmember are in! i have to grind down the edges of the strut hats so they fit and drill 4 blocks with bigger holes for the rear crossmember bolts, but its coming along nicely!
