November 28, 201312 yr Hey Everyone. I have a '95 Legacy LS. I'm pretty sure it's about time to change the struts. I believe they are original parts on a legacy with 350k on it. I was thinking about putting some outback struts on it, hopefully giving it 1 to 1-1/2 inch lift. Just enough room for a slightly more aggressive tire. I'm not sure if I can just swap the struts out or do I need to swap other parts out in addition to make it all compatible. Thanks for any input you have Travis.
November 28, 201312 yr Direct bolt in. No modification necessary. Yields a couple inches of lift and will let you clear up to a 28 inch tire if you wish.Have fun!
November 28, 201312 yr Outback strut by itself will give you just a hair over 1" lift. Put forester spring on and you'll get close to another inch.
November 29, 201312 yr There has been some discussion about this in another recent thread here: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/141833-questions-on-lifting-my-95-legacy-sedan/?hl=lifting
November 30, 201312 yr a 95 Legacy with a straight Forester Strut swap - complete assembly - pull them out of the Forester, stuff them in the Legacy - nets almost 2 inches on the stock tires.
