I bought a 95 impreza and the radio was trashed, so I'm trying to install an aftermarket one. I have no power on either the switched(red and yellow) wire, or the unswitched(yellow) wire. I only have a chiltons manual and it has a vague diagram and it don't show the radio wiring. Has anyone else had this pronlem, and if so what was the fix.  Thanks 

maybe crutchfield.com offers an adapter cable?

have you metered the fuse that corresponds to the radio yet?

fuse box is located on the drivers side on the left, very uncomfortable to get to, but it has to be done.

Check fuses - if it was 'trashed' likely blew 1 or 10.

Thank you all for your responses. The adapter won't do it because there is no power in the factory plug. I found one blown fuse in the box under the hood, but not sure what it was for. I don't know which fuse is for the radio, because I don't have the owners manual.  Thanks again. might have to run my own wires

 

The lid for the fuses under the hood ID's the fuses. As does the cover for the fuses under the dash (for Legacy @ least.)

you should be able to find wiring diagrams and whatever else you may need.

Think those colors are wrong.  yellow and yellow red wires are for speakers.

You need a green single pole (batt power) and IIRC Blue/red wire will be the switched 12v
