EA-81 Heads

Featured Replies

I am wondering if you can replace the EA-81 fuel injected heads with Carburated heads?

Yeah, but FI heads on;y came on turbo cars.

So the compression will be low if the pistons are not swapped too.

Thanks a lot for the reply guys. I don't think the compression will matter too much as I am going to use the engine on a trike.

The heads have no change on the compression.  EA81Ts have lower compression pistons, the combustion chamber volume is identical, carb or turbo.

Right, so unless he swaps the pistons, it will be low compression.  That's what I meant.

If he puts ea81t heads on an ea81 carb shortblock it will still have the same compression ratio as the carb longblock.

What he wants is a basic carb runner and has a good EFI long block to use.

I reckon he needs to swap that long block for a NA long block. The EFI heads mean nothing to him.

Cheers
