August 25, 20205 yr It looks like I could use shorter studs if I remove this part. Will the y pipe bolt directly to the block? I am going to do the Weber conversion, so no need for the exhaust gas. So, is there any good reason to leave it on there?
August 25, 20205 yr I doubt the backside of that flange looks like the front side. The exhaust pipe won't mate well.
August 25, 20205 yr You might also find your exhaust will foul the engine crossmember without those spacer plates fitted. Cheers Bennie
August 27, 20205 yr Exhaust header will be too short to reach the heads without hitting the cradle. And you can just cut off the pipe, unscrew the fitting and drop a quarter down in there. Those spacers don't feed exhaust gas, they feed fresh air INTO the exhaust to charge the cat. So a Weber swap does not preclude their use. The converter will still benefit from the AIS system if you leave it functional. GD Edited August 27, 20205 yr by GeneralDisorder
