August 17, 200421 yr I found the Finleyweb engine section on another post here, but was wondering if anyone else had links to an electronic version of an entire FSM for and EA81. Specifically for an 87 brat, since that's what I need, but I figure any EA81 troubleshooting guidance from the FSM would be better than none. Keith
August 18, 200421 yr this has some good stuff in it, part 1http://willsmith.dtdns.net/Subaru%20Manuals%20and%20Diagrams/Gregorys%202wd%20&%204wd%201979-1994%20Subaru%20Manual%20-%20part%201.zip and part 2 http://willsmith.dtdns.net/Subaru%20Manuals%20and%20Diagrams/Gregorys%202wd%20&%204wd%201979-1994%20Subaru%20Manual%20-%20part%202.zip

August 18, 200421 yr Author It is a Gregory's manual. MUCH better than the chilton I have. Good pictures (although dark in this pdf), and clear, well written instructions. I've never liked any chiltons (or haynes) manual I've used. This looks pretty good. Time to get the CD burner warmed up. Keith

Keith Ya those PDFs I was looking at are WAY WAY WAY better than ANY Chiltons/Haynes I've ever looked in.
August 18, 200421 yr Hmm.. ok.. Don't know anything abou the gregory manuals. It just happens to have a nearly identical layout to every chiltons manual I have. Thanks for putting this up. Will add it to the collecttion
August 18, 200421 yr You might try looking for the Robert Bentley manual (ISBN 0-8376-0270-X). A re-write of the FSM for all Subarus from 1978 and up to and including 1984. Hard to find but worth it if you can get one.
August 18, 200421 yr Yes, thank you very much for the links. The electrical diagram makes more sense to me from the gregory than the chilton's. Again thank you.
August 18, 200421 yr Author The car I'm working on is an 87 brat, but I understand that the 87 brats are basically the same as the rest of the 83-84 EA-81s, so the bently manual would be a good one to have. Anyone have it online? Keith
August 21, 200421 yr You have to watch it with that Gregory's manual - I've been looking it over, and since it was published for the AUS market, it's got some real weird stuff in it. It's not to be trusted in all respects, but still a good reference for general procedures and the like. Not sure I would go to it for certain specifications tho. GD
