Ok, what does it mean to hear a deep humming sound coming from my wheel area when I turn the wheel sharply?

 

Also, there's this 'Wooh, WOOH, Wooh, WOOH' (Not from the internet muffler whistle video ) sound as I'm driving along. It goes in synch with the wheels as I'm driving. The sound has gotten louder recently. It hasn't caused any drivability problems but I notice it.

I'll venture forth my opinion.... as I had a similar experience.

 

turned out to be my front wheel bearings going out. it allowed enough movement that the rotor was hitting the brake pad (in a non-normal braking fashion of course)

 

watch your tires for cupping/eneven wear....

You could have a piece of the plastic inner wheel well loose and rubbing against the tire?

 

My Camry will do that every now and then in a wind.

 

Are your lug nuts tight?

Jack it up and find out

 

Check the whole tire for any deformations or tread seperation.

 

Check for any play by trying to wiggle the tire twoard/away from you.

 

Roll it by hand and see if you can 'feel' anything funny.

 

Pull the tire off now and start visually inspecting your running gear. Make sure the castle nut is tight and all your hardware holding the caliper on and such.

Sub hubs run 6207 bearings, funny that, same as my chief gearbox.

Man, you've got The Supremes hiding out underneath your car!

Check your CV Axle, i just did all 4, its not a hard task, after inspecting the axle for torn boots or sloppy yokes, check for play in the wheel bearing, and disregard your book when it comes to replacing the bearings in the front, it can be done without taking the steering knuckles to a machine shop email me if you have any further questions, would be glad to help!
