March 31, 200521 yr I have been looking for long bolts , where is a good source to get them? I need 12mm x 1.25 @ 10" long and 7 1/2 ", also 10mm x 1.25 @ 7 1/2" long thank you Scott
March 31, 200521 yr For me, it would be AIH (Alaska Industrial Hardware). I haven't checked out Lowes or Home Depot, but I would want to get hardened bolts.
March 31, 200521 yr Might shoot Archemitis a PM and ask. He had a tough time finding a few of the really long bolts for his 4" lift kit. Eventually found everything he needed.
March 31, 200521 yr For the really really long 12mm bolts (transmission crossmember?) I had to re-tap the hole for a coarse thread 1/2", since that was all I could find at the local farm store. A 1/2" tap is just a little too big for the existing hole, but if you are careful not to break the tap you can do it without drilling. - James B
April 1, 200521 yr Author this is for a 6" lift , the metric size is 250 x 12 x 1.25 , 190 x 12 1.25, 190 x 10 x 1.25 SJR

April 1, 200521 yr funny stuff about the subaru hardware. they always use the very fine pitch thread. and they only used heat treaded bolts on our cars! thats grade 5 in sae jargon. i used grade 8 standard 3/8 coarse for my front xmember bolts. the stock ones were 10mm grade 5. for the tranny xmember bolts, i found them at a place called Fastenall Eagan MN also, surprisingly napa had them in stock, not enough tho. very helpfull. im sure fastenall would ship to you, but... you have to be able to find them localy. hardware specialists can order you anything you want, but standard is the easiest to find. the rear diff hanger bolts, now thats a different story all together...

April 2, 200520 yr Author Having no luck on all the fastener places, did pick up a second wagon for the engine got it running and took it out in the woods had a blast in stock form it goes better them my Bronco. got it stuck and unstuck even modified the fender on a tree SJR
April 3, 200520 yr well... i always figured thats why the 4 inch lifts stopped at 4 inch, and not 5, because you cant find bolts, strong enough, that long. all of the 6inch+lifts i have seen use open stock, with the same short stock bolt stuck in one side, and nuts on the other. you just have to use stronger steel, and not rely on the long bolt to keep is strong. that or buiild small subframes.
April 3, 200520 yr Metric to SAE equivalents Grade 8 = Grade 5 Grade 10 = Grade 8 The longer bolts will be almost impossible to find in a fine thread. When I built the lift for my maroon hatch I ended up using a course thread bolt. The course threaded bolt uses a slightly larger hole then the fine threaded one. Just have to rethread the hole. I will hold fine.
