October 3, 200322 yr Turn up the sound and add whatever bass you speakers have. Unfortunatly the audio does not fully capture the depth of the sound but you can get the idea. www.subarubrat.com/PICS/engine.mpg PS, let me know if the link bombs.
October 4, 200322 yr I guess my computer is just too slow or something because every 15 seconds or so I hear about a second's worth of noise. That sucks
October 4, 200322 yr Author The steering wheel is a Grant GT and the hub kit for it is a special order so don't even look for it on the shelf, it is a waste of time. Autozone has the setup, there are several wheels that will fit that hub.
October 4, 200322 yr Author Yes, get the wheel and look on the back of the box for the number, then have them order that number.
October 4, 200322 yr to the new board. Going to OA tomorrow? I can't make it, but if you do, throw some dirt for me. Regards, JAY
October 5, 200322 yr alright, i need to come see yur brat sometime, since your only 45 min away LOL.. now that i have a lifted hatch maybe we can do some off roadin.. since i've only lived here a couple years i don't know of any place to go.. besides the mud puddles on the back road to work maybe we can figure somethin out
October 7, 200322 yr Author Meeky, As soon as I come out the other side of the paint booth I am all about that!
October 7, 200322 yr good, good, just say when and i'm sure we'll have a blast.. got a few things to do to the hatch anways to get it to pass inspection.. the hatch i have is the one EJ went scuba diving with lol i'm sure ya've seen the pics..
October 7, 200322 yr Sounds great! And starts right up just like a Subaru should. Got any audio of it reved? When i wheelin with Adam, his ER27 pulled him through everything without a stumble. Definatly better than the carbbed 1.8 -Brian
October 17, 200322 yr hey Subarubrat.... my hatch should be rdy to go hopefully by the end of the day today.. is in the shop gettin exhaust fixed and inspected.. hte wheel bearing swap fixed alot of things.. so whenever your rdy to go wheelin give me a holler.. weekends are my days off, sometimes have kid with me, sometimes the wife too, but they both like goin wheelin anyways
October 17, 200322 yr Should have an off-road meet, I would love to come down there and see that brat and check out what you've done to that hatch....Then we could hit the trails, mud, Mts, woods, I am sure you guys have allot of places down there to go...
October 17, 200322 yr the hatch failed inspection because the brake lines are not long enough( so he says) and they're not in the little mounting bracket on the strut.. i told him to set the car down on the ground and check'm and they got 4" of slack... but he said no.. grr.. so i either have to find longer brake lines, or a n ew inspection station... the guy tried to tell me the lift was illegal cause it was on a car, so i told him show that to me in the book.. the book just said it can't be lifted more than 3"... if anyon eknows of an inspection station here in VA that will pass it let me know lol...
October 17, 200322 yr Author Meeky, Napa in Warrenton (about 10 min past Remington) has brake line extensions that will bolt in, take a look at my site for the details under MY BRAT MODS. The NAPA is on the main road just past the Hospital next to a burger king at the end of a car lot. There is a very Lax station near Manassas, I know the place but not the name, stop by Autozone in Warenton and ask fo chuck, tell him you are looking for a inspection station and he can tell you where it is at and the name. VA inspectors tend to fancy themselves to be badged law enforcement elites.
October 17, 200322 yr that looks easy enough i did get a recommendation from a guy here at work on where to get it inspected.... gonna try that on my way home what did those fender flares originally fit? was thinkin on gettin some for the hatch, just not that wide.... but wasn't sure on what to start with.. toyota, nissan, etc... we got a napa here in town, and a fisher.. will have to hit them up if it dosn't pass teh 2nd time around today...
October 17, 200322 yr Author Those are bushwhakcers made for a Toyota 4x4. If you want a flare set, a friend of mine has a 2 inch rubber type that I am sure he will sell you as his BRAT is long since destroyed and he never had the chance to mount them.
October 17, 200322 yr hey that sounds like what i want, 2" would be awsome.. see how many bones he wants for them..
