March 24, 200620 yr Here are some pics I took of the mod I did to my guages and one of my V1. There hard to see but you get the idea.
March 24, 200620 yr Looks Fine! This is the image of my Yellow one Dashboard: Also I got a Question: Recently a friend did help me to change the Oil of the White EA82, and did ShortCircuit the Oil Pressure Cable... So the Needle did go up fast and enough time to damage it... Now the needle is Always (With the Engine shut down) far low under the 0 (Low) position (Dropped Down) and with the engine revving up, it just reach up about the 0 point. :-\ It means that it`s workin` but just a little bit and Under it`s area. The questions are: Can I Fix it? and How? also: What is a V1? 10X
March 24, 200620 yr Uhm... what mod? They look like subie gauges. And whats a V1? -Brian V1 is the Valentine 1 Radar detector. I had one with my '94 Acura Integra, but I'm not sure why you'd need one with an older soob. I sold mine when I picked up my first sooby.
March 24, 200620 yr Author My guages are now RED not GREEN they look like the STI and Defi guages. I had the V1 in my old WRX so I just thought I would use it I hard wired it so its real clean looking and you cant see it from out side of the car.
March 25, 200620 yr Looks cool. Did you use red bulbs or did you coat the backs of the gauges with something red?
March 25, 200620 yr Author I just did the same thing I did to my old WRX take red red sharpie marker to the bulbs. Just take the dash apart to get to the guage cluster and on the back side the bulbs pull right out. Just make sure to pull the screws behind the heater and AC buttons you have to romove the top and bottom there are screws behind the buttons.
March 25, 200620 yr You may find that over time the red marker will burn off the bulbs, leaving you with pink or orange. I've found that red bulbs (Polarg Hyper-Red are the ones I've used before) are much longer-lasting, in general.
March 25, 200620 yr Author Another coat of red marker is free. I will look at bulbs when my marker burns off I know does but I dont feel like waiting for the bulbs to get here. On my WRX the RED never wore off.
March 25, 200620 yr but I'm not sure why you'd need one with an older soob.. You haven't driven my wagon;)
March 25, 200620 yr pfft, mines gonna be faster Gonna be? I hear a lot of that from people on the board.. Talk to me when (if) it runns:-p
March 25, 200620 yr Another tip is: If you are going to change your bulb color just use stained glass window paint. My brother did this and it hasn't changed to a weird color in over 3years.
March 25, 200620 yr That Krylon Stained Glass works great. I made my old Sentra's tails all red with it, and if you didn't know better, you'd think it was factory. Looked fantastic!
