abs light

Featured Replies

what would cause the abs light to turn on in a 96 legacy.

i comes on and when the car is turned off and back on it goes out and stays out for a while. the brake fluid is full.

most popular reason is a dirty or malfunctioning wheel speed sensor

Ya mine came on because the idiots who changed my front bearing wacked the sensor, and i had to pay 300 for a new one. Dam *******!

are the sensors left and right? front and rear? or all interchangeable??

At least on my '99 OB, they're all different.

that would make sense, left and right handed, and different front and rear since the disc & knuckles are different.

Still trying to figure something simular out. After going 100 miles or so in a day my ABS light comes on, and the ABS doent work. ( I tried it on a gravel road on my way home) but I shut off the car turn it back on and no light and working ABS, could this be a sensor also? mmmmmm

Some people have a relay buzzing and intermittent ABS.

I THINK also that system is very sensitive to low voltage from the alternator and is the first system to display odd behavior if one/some rectifiers burnout in the alt.
