Hi everyone,

I just need help from anybody. I want to instal the alarm system to my Loyale from ´89 4WD and i need to find out where is the control unit of central locking system.

If you have any clue to help me find it or send me a picture where it is?

Pleas help me with this, I have repaired my sweetie and I don´t want anyone to steal it from me again.

I am very faithful for your answers.

I believe you will want to tap into the control

lock inside the drivers door or trace them as they exit at the

kick panel.

 

I may be wrong but I do not think there is a "unit"

per say (like there is for the power windows for instance).

 

All functions your alarm should need are in the door.

How to install it I have found out.

Now the problem is that I have to install it somewher I think on wiring system to activate it for remote control and I don´t know how.

Till yesterday I had the door locking system from drivers side with key. Now I have installed the alarm and I can´t find how to make it work from the remote control.

Any idea?

The driver's door has no actuator to move the locks on its own.

 

I would install an actuator on the driver's door lock, and then have the remote activate that actuator, which then would activate the actuators in the other door locks.

Yes, mikeshoup is Right, you should install an Electrical Motor to the Driver`s Door Lock, so it can Engage or Not Locks, and if it Actuates with the Driver`s Lock, it will Activate the Rest of the Door`s Locks.

 

It is Simple and it can be done Easily if you buy the Electric Motor in a Car`s Alarms Shop or Somethin` Alike.

Sorry about the reference to the nonexistent lock mechanisms in the drivers door.

Here is an idea.

 

Since you are in Europe, the UK is not too far away.

In the UK they drive on the "correct"

side of the road.

Where as the rest of us must therefore drive on the incorrect side??

If you found someone in the UK that is dismantling a Loyale,

the "off" side door (our driver's side) will have the actuator you need.

 

It should be a simple bolt in installation.

 

The wires to this actuator will be the only ones needed by your remote control unit

assuming it is providing battery voltage via a relay.

 

If your choose this method.

Have the remote unit apply battery voltage to the white with a yellow tracer wire.

The yellow wire from the actuator goes to ground.

(I have the factory service manual (fsm) for your car)

 

As has bee mentioned.

The operation of the driver's door lock will then cause the other locks to unlock.

Fortunatelly I have at home one extra back door for case if something happens and they have the actuator. So I can try put this actuator in the rear drivers door, or no?

The rear door already has an actuator (assuming the car has power locks already...). you need one in the front. the power lock system works by having a sensor in the driver's side front door that tells the rest of the actuators to do the same. if you have an actuator move the one lock, the rest will follow.

 

I like the idea of getting one from a RHD car!

when I had mine apart. I'm fairly certain that the front and rear actuators are mounted at a different angle in relation to the locking mechanism. But I suppose it is worth a try...

Your alarm will probally hook up to a Universal 2 wire actuator.

 

In my wagon, I added a actuator to the drivers door, then wired that to the alarm. The alarm activates the actuator, which locks the drivers door lock. That in turn makes the factory door lock system lock.

A word to teh wise... be patient, and test it thoroughly before putting the door panel back on.

i am having problems with my central locking..

where abouts is the control unit for central locking?

i have had a look, and the manual say behind the instrument cluster to the right of the fuse panel.. i have looked but i dont really know what im looking for....

Ive never had the power locks working since if had the car. i have try different locking mechanisms, its like there is no power activating the other doors?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Adam: The first thing to Ask you, is: Which Car are You Writin´ About? Because if it is a Loyale (The EA82 Engined) it did not Have a Central Lockin´ Doors System, just some sort of "Position Sensor" on the Driver´s Door, that Locks on Unlocks the other Doors as the Driver´s is Locked or Not.

well a central locking system is just that, the drivers door is the "Central" lock and the other locks do the same as it, unlock or lock. There is no acuator in the drivers door, but there are in the other 3 doors.
