November 15, 200322 yr have you guys seen this stuff? is there a way to get this stuff now? this is the page I'm talking about http://ultimatesubaru.org/80s/projectrudy/rudy.html not all of the pics here have what I'm talking about but check the "swingback" and that coupe out.
November 15, 200322 yr i dont think anyone has ever gotten this stuff. it was all pretty much in japan during the 80's and i doubt anything survived much less made it over here...
November 15, 200322 yr Check out that crazy "Safari" engine - those are dual port heads, and some wicked looking dual carbs on dual manifolds! And that's one MOTHER of an alternator on it too - right in the center, between the carbs. Amazing stuff. Most of that JDM stuff went through the system long ago I'm afraid, or is a museum peice in Japan somewhere. Don't see a lot of EA81's comming in from engine importers - too old. GD
November 15, 200322 yr Sign me up for a '83 RX with this! http://ultimatesubaru.org/80s/projectrudy/spengine.jpg
November 15, 200322 yr I would love to back to Japan and see if they have wrecking yards there like we do. Travel all over the Island picking up stuff along the way, then shipping it back to the PNW. I could probably retire off the proceeds:D Hey Honey, I'm going to the JR, be back in a month. Rob
November 15, 200322 yr a guy on the byb board recently found one of those EA81 Dual port engines in someones back yard down on OzLand.. cool find
November 15, 200322 yr Ok, I did some searching and found this link to an article from April of 2002. Granted, its 1 1/2yrs old, but the info answers alot of questions (and myths). http://www.autospeed.com/cms/A_1338/article.html Rob
November 15, 200322 yr Very informative Rob! I looked very carefully at the pictures and didn't see a '83 Safari Rally RX:boohoo:
