A local guy has an Impreza that was wrecked by his son, now that a new one -huh? Early ninties 1.8L 5 speed. The firemen on scene got over jealous and cut the roof off the car to get him out?? My buddy who has seen the car, says there is very minor damage and can't figure why they cut the roof off. He thinks they wanted the practice????? They are willing to let the car go for scrap price -lets say a 100 greenbacks or so. Soooo do I snag this creature and turn it into a summer only Topless Imp (with roll bar to complete the body structure) or pass it on to ya'll?? Like I need another project - > "the Captian" will hide the life preserver and throw me overboard. I can get some pictures if there is genuine interest. Bucky92 Posted June 12, 2007 Share Posted June 12, 2007 If you really want another project I would say go for it!! add a roll bar then maybe ..just maybe..find one at a scrap yard..gank the roof and modify it all to make it a hard top..maybe a 2 piece so you can go targa style or take the whole thing off. idosubaru Posted June 12, 2007 Share Posted June 12, 2007 there's been a few threads about making an XT6 into a convertible and one person has done it....there are some decent discussion, structural, reinforcing type information over at xt6.net. probably on the internet as well. if you didn't want it and it's a FWD 5 speed i'd probably take it. i may still take it if it's AWD. nipper Posted June 14, 2007 Share Posted June 14, 2007 Aside from the car twisting like a pretzel, does it still have a windsheild? If they couldnt open the doors they will cut the roof off. Suggs could go on about WRX and other swaps but cheap is not in the equation with these. of course I could rip one of my Legacy T-waons apart -- NOT!!
