Whatever happened to the supercharger?

Featured Replies

There was a post awhile back from a guy who wanted to try to supercharge his sube. Any new news?

depends what subie you're referring to.

I can think of many EJ-series engines with some belt-driven boost....

It was a couple months ago and it was in "older generation" so I'm thinking EA

81/82. But coulda been EJ22 not sure.

Just curious if they got it to work and what they ended up using?

matty b got I think a EJ20 in his wonderbrumby, maybe you're referring to him? look in the retrofitting forum.

I don't think his doing that anymore.. I was wanting to SC my EA81dc, but now I'm looking at two webers and very high comp

I heard of rumors ...actually ..I know of someone who supercharged an EG33 SVX and know of I believe 2 others who may be in the processof doing it

I had one running for 14 months and retired the project.

Also, use LPGsuperchargedbrumby had an ea81 running blown on LPG .... for a while.

Isnt that a RAM engine?

I was thinking about supercharging for a while, and still am I guess. I just decided to stay clear of trying it on one of the EA series motors, as every bad sube engine I have torn apart has had 1 piston explore other parts of the engine. I know it can be done, forged pistons etx, as RAM sells one, but I think it will be more worth it to tinker around with the SC and an EJ series. Especially since the SC I have is serpentine belt drive, not vbelt.

yep, that's RAM engine. custom oil pan, intake, heads, valve covers...everything....
