WCSS10 Location and Date Set!

Featured Replies

WCSS announces our 10th Anniversary show.

Place and Date have been set: Astoria, OR - Aug 15th - 17th .

Astoria is a town rich with history, capable of occupying you for several days. This would be a great opportunity to plan family vacation.

Astoria is close to the ocean, a trip to Cannon beach would be a great recommendation. There is a movie tour, touring all site of famous movies shot in the area. (I.E. Goonies)

The Astoria Column is just outside of town, and gives a great 360° view of the surrounding area and both major bridges entering the city.

For the subarus or yota's? LOL:lol: Naw thats cool, count me in. Thats a great time to have the show, I think it might be close to the time when people go back to school, but its late enough so that the weather should be great and it gives everyone time to get their stuff together. You can definitely count me in.

I'm there for sure

Well i am a big maybe!! I would be driving aways but it would be fun! besides portland, OR is my home town and it would be good to see some old friends while i was near the area. All really depends on if i can get my project done in time! 86 rx4 with ej2.2t or Ej20G swap.

Yes.......

almost 9 months to make something road worthy..... I know I can do that!

"Help me Mr. Wizard!!!!!"

Town of the, "Goonies"... kind of fits, ........ excellent.....

I have already been making the plans to come out...so I just marked the calender and this east coaster is flying out!!

You cant fly when you just bought a Subaru with 0 miles on it!!!

This is one WCSS i cant miss! Astoria sounds familiar, did we have a WCSS here before?

The only reason why driving may not be in the picture is the whole...time off work thing.New job and all...and if I was going to drive out..I would want about 2 weeks off..Flying would give me more time to spend with some people I care alot about ( they know who they are;) ). But Driving might just happen...just like we are planning on going to FL to visit Tommys parents over christmas...we were going to fly but know we just might drive.( I have a feeling I am going to like driving alot more again)

 Wow..I was just thinking about the next WCSS, didn't really expect to hear/read anything until early next year:cool: .

Onsite camping was mentioned...will this be a similar setup to the meets at Hood River?

Not quite like Hood River. Astoria fairgrounds are much larger and have more "rural" and expansive room for tent camping. RV camping is extensive with only water and electricity available. On site showers and facilities are available also. These grounds are huge compared to Hood River. Also, if you have the vacation time available, take some extra time before or after WCSS to explore Astoria and the nearby Oregon coast area.

I'm working on the missus. We had talked about going to a couple of the earlier ones, but it never happened. This is lots of time to plan, plus we want to do the OR coast again.

Just to be crystal clear, more similar to Hood River than to Thurston ORV...right?:)
