Featured Replies

Looking for ideas on how to set up the hitachi throttle return spring on the weber carb.

This has all been covered but most pictures aren't there, i need a visual:rolleyes:

Thanks.

I suspect this will be the first of many different ways you'll see it done. I can't say it's better, or worse, than others, but it works well and was as simple as drilling a hole.

Clean and positive! I have mine hooked to the round protrusion on the carb above the disty. Easy as bending a wire.

I like the hole idea better, it looks like it wont slip off puddle jumping.

Any other good pics out there?

Psyko, does your choke wire splice right into the existing harness? If not, how'd you power it?

The Return Spring Goes to the Metallic Pipe from the Power Steering Pump.

Kind Regards!

Yeah, my Weber's choke uses the wiring for the original carb. I just put a couple connectors on a wire and plugged in where the Hitachi's auto choke plugged in.

I'll also note that that picture doesn't show my valve cover/PCV valve tubes because they weren't there yet. Just in case anybody was wondering.

Here is how we did my return spring:

I like that, so subtle that it looks "stock":)

ettev, it doesn't look like you even have a return spring... ???

Briggs i dont either lol. Even though its been wicked cold out my throttle still hasnt bound up like it did last year so i havent had a reason to put your cable guide on. Probably just screwed myself by saying that and now its going to bind lol. I still got it though and am probably going to put it on one of these days when i get a chance.

I am going to bump this thread, for good return spring ideas.

This is my setup, without a return spring atm.

Anyone happen to have pictures of the idleup setup for the ac with a Weber on?

http://i.imgur.com/TI6cK.jpg The red circle connects to the solenoid correct?

Started randomly popping caps on the intake this week.. some oil coming out the top hose of the EGR.. Tried capping it entirely before but the motor wont run that way :s

Correct, a small vac line runs from the red circle, to the idle up valve which is on the intake, its like a 1/8" hose.

I was afraid of that... I hooked it up to the solenoid that came with the brat and nothing happened, hooked it up to another one I had and.. nothing happened.

Those 3 relays on the passenger side strut tower have something to do with the A/C system, maybe one is stuck. I actually have another one of those relays and another one of those solenoid things. The only thing I don't have is an Idle up Valve.

Let me know if these would be any use to you.
