ROFL at least he didnt say duct tape :-\ Perhaps if this was a Honda forum he would have :banana: ra ra ra ricearoniiiii:banana:

I just bought a pair of lights for my front bumper, thanks for posting this thread=) Has anyone put lights on the wagon front cargo bar, are they strong enough and far enough forward?

The KC HiLighters are mounted to aluminum plates

I fabricated to replace the turn signal housings

The turn signals are rewired to the white side lights

beside the head lights.

Makes it a bit safer as the turn signals can now been seen from

the side better than before.

just add more length to both original wires. like 3 foot more each side for side lights and 3 foot more for bumper signals...route wiring in vice - verca location from factory, install driving or foglights in bumper, and hook up lights.

Sweeet, doesnt sound hard to do right:banana:

Actually Mr. Bhien makes it more difficult than it really is.

Follow the wiring from the turn signal and you will find it up by

the parking light that I converted to a turn signal.

It was a simple splice at that point, no "3 foot of wire" needed.

I also changed the lamp to an amber colored one, and left

the small corner marker as the "parking light"

On my wagon, there were factory pre-drilled holes already in the metal reinforcement on the underside the bumper. I just crawled under the car, drilled through the plastic and was good to go. The cool thing was, I didn't have to measure to make sure the lights were evenly spaced.

Can I re'rout the parking light wiring to a set of driving lights without overloading the fuse, switch etc... I want to use the parking light switch for new lights... or should i just re wire new sitches... ewww lol

You will blow a fuse. Wire in a relay to control the driving lights.

+1 on the relay. You will burn up the switch eventually with out one. As a bonus Your lights will be brighter with a relay.

drilled straight trough the bumper cover and beam

2 IPF 6" yellow driving beams

That is the ultimate stone guard!!!!

anyone ever try putting them on the bottom side of the bumper. I know the 6 inch round ones woudl work but how about some 4x6 lights.

Ea82 had factory driving lights that were mounted on the bottom. There is a metal strip that is screwed on the bottom and they just bolted up to that.

I have lights under the bumper, I didn't take into account busting through snow drifts - so I broke a lens two nights back, could have been gravel in the plowed snow berm or the shock of rapid cooling, dunno

when it isn't the end-of-the-world-weather I will be moving them to the top of the bumper, I wish I could come up with a roof mount that didn't look cheesy

btw, throwing the extra wide light to the sides has definitely kept me from having a zillion rude deer surprises and helped me to figure out where the road center was in really really bad weather

Under the bumper I think then I found that strip. Can I get away with mounting some 6" rounds on that without worrying about road crap hitting it? It doesnt snow here ever lol.
