05 Impreza Speedo, Trans, timing Belt
1 Lucky Texan replied to lmdew's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXCrank pos sensor getting flakey? A VERY long time ago, I read of an STI owner that cleaned some debris (ferrous dust particles) from a CPS and it fixed some intermittent issues. Not sure why it wouldn't set a CEL...?

Searching for a transmission!
Be aware, if it's like the 5spd on my 06 WRX, the shifter is held on the shift shaft by 2 spring pins...1 INSIDE the other!

2006 WRX wagon clutch pedal
They replaced the slave. If they give me the old one, I might investigate rebuilding it and keep it with the other spares I have for the car. With fresh fluid and a bleed, maybe the master will be ok, if not, it's the onley thing left so, I might tackle it myself but really guys, maintenance and repair work is getting to be a challenge for me nowadays.

2006 WRX wagon clutch pedal
since it pumps back up, I figured it isn't a cracked lever. The problem seems more hydraulic in nature?

2006 WRX wagon clutch pedal
Long time no write... After retirement, I rarely drive my wagon, after it sits for a while, I find the clutch pedal does not return after pressing. I CAN lift it and pump it enough to shift, then, after driving for a while, it starts behaving mostly normally. Anyone experience this? clutch master or slave cylinder????

2006 6DISC CHANGER PROBLEMS
1 Lucky Texan replied to CALHOONS's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThe only issue I've read about in the past is a CD getting stuck/not ejecting and it causing enough drain to kill the battery.

2000 Outback- lackluster performance
1 Lucky Texan replied to Stevo F's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXseems unlikely at low miles, but a bad knock sensor can keep timing retarded and kill performance. Might be the only sensor that doesn't need to be OEM. most folks report $25 units work fine if you don't overtorque them and make sure to route the cable from them in the same orietation.

20 plus years โon the drawing board.โ
that diesel is short enough? there were some Subaru diesel crate engines available at one time, or source a used one from overseas? back in the 70s, folks were putting Kubota diesels in some small cars....... or maybe a Mazda wankel ?

05 STi Intermittent No Start
you might try 'popping' the clutch pedal 2-3 times next time it fails. maybe the safety switch on it is failing. Or the one on the brake pedal?
