Gidday, I was searching through some old threads and found some great info on Subaru Weights. Not entirely sure where this page should go on here ( I did a search on here - but nothing was listed ) so thought I'd share this link by Kostamojen : The Subaru Curb Weight thread ( Almost complete list ) : http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=915025 Might also ask Kostamojen if we could update it with some metric figures ... Cheers, Bantum ... Add : Thanks for making a sticky ... Note : That spelling is optional, Kerb in Australia ...

Peugeot lugnuts are different between alloys and steel wheels. Here a pic: http://www.indysworld.com/80s/general/wheels/pugnuts.jpg There's also a third type of lugnut for the pre-1970 504 steel wheel. I don't have a picture of that. Update: I do have a picture now. On the left, is the standard alloy lugnut. Next to it the standard steelie lugnut. Third from the left (and this is a guess on my part) is an alternate version for the alloy wheels. On the far right is the lugnut for the very early 504 wheels.

Carbs Unlimited in Fife, WA has the most detailed information on Weber carbs that I've found. They stock most everything you need or can order what they don't have. http://www.carburetion.com/weber/weber.htm

http://stores.ebay.com/RAP-Whse This showed up recently in someone else's post. Steering racks rebuilt for Subaru (and other cars). My Impreza ('97) had the rack rebuilt when I found the dealer cost was over $600! Their rebuild is $254 with a $125 core charge returned to you once they receive your rebuildable core. Useful to know.

I see on many forums that when people ask "what size wire should I use?" the answer sometimes sounds like either "the biggest the better", or an arbitrary gauge size without basis for the choice. The gauge size might be correct, or not. As an aircraft mechanic, I am obliged to use the proper size wire when I do repairs, and there are guides I must use. These two graphs are good references for making wire selections. For automotive applications, assume the circuit voltage to be 14v for this purpose. This graph is to be used for continuous loads, like driving and fog lights or anything else that must be continuously powered. This chart shows two curvers, 1 and 2, f…

Here's a table that I made up for testing the top speed and accuracy of my speedometer on the RX. Hope it's helpful. You can enter the tire side desired in order to see how a certain tire will affect your speed and rpms.

*(here is the link if you can put it in the appropriate section, or even make a new section for part number related material)* Subaru Parts Guide 1985-2002 2-door/mpv(brat and hatch), Loyale(ea82's) and XT. the scans do not include the new gen chapters, so tecnically these particular scans cover 1985-1994 http://www.economysuperstar.com/milesfox/subaru/service/partsguide/

In this thread I will post the part number to each FSM, some are single books, others are in sets. 1st line will the the application. 2nd line will be the part number for said application. 3rd line will be the *current dealer list price and quantity in US national inventory available for purchase by the dealers to get them in your hands. *price and availability will be current ONLY for the time in which each part number is added. After that, YOU much double check the pricing and availability. I would HIGHLY recommend http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/index.cfm?siteid=214725 for purchase of these items. So far, here is what I have: 1980 Engine…

  20. For those of you in Canada, do you know that Crappy Tire offers free "loaner" tools at most of their stores? AutoZone and other stores in the US offer similar tools. Good to know when you need a specialty tool once every 2 years or so... Ctire loans most of these PowerBuilt tool kits: http://tinyurl.com/sc9zy Basically you pay for the kit and get a 100% refund when you return it. (Use a credit card, some kits are around $200!) Kit #3 "6pc Front End Service Kit" is especially useful. Powerbuilt part number 648626 Canadian Tire part number 25-6332-6

Soutthpaw sent in this submission: Just thought this link should be here on repairs. Anti-seize lubricant http://www.permatex.com/products/aut...ubricant_a.htm Use it on any and all bolts and nuts subject to corrosion. it will handle temps to 1600*F. Really good for exhaust manifold studs, bolts and nuts. Most auto parts stores carry it.

I just wanted to post a note regarding our www.scoobymods.com website. You will see me and others posting links to ScoobyMods from time to time. For those that are not familiar with the site, it's a place for all Subaru owners to look for things like Mods, DIY service, TSB's and specific to Subaru info. I try to keep it up to date as possible. It's free to use (we do take contributions though) but in order to see most of the site you will need to register. We don't do anything with your e-mail address, but we do need to control who posts what kind of information. There are only two places registered users can post on our site. The Q&A and the contributions sectio…
