  1. Not the same car, but similar problem (except for the miles)....our '86 GL wagon with 245K on the odo was losing oil to the tune of 4 to 5 quarts between oil changes (every 2500 miles). No smoke out the back, no oil on the garage floor, but lots of oil on the underside of the car. Seems that the oil was being pushed out of one (or more) of the seals. A timing belt change along with a re-seal of the engine and all was well again. Consider getting another dealer; you can add a lot of oil between changes before you'd even approach the cost of a major engine tear-down and "exploratory" work to determine the source of the lost oil. PCV is also a good item to replace.
  2. Here's a better pic of the chrome wheel(s) I have:
  3. Yep, these are the same wheels in chrome.
  4. You're copying the URL; highlight it and then paste it and it'll show up. I did the same thing for months and it flat drove me nuts.
  5. I'll have to check but I think I have four except they are finished in chrome rather than grey. When I get home I'll check them out and compare.
  6. Here's my setup in my '84 Brat: Check out my comments since I really don't like the aftermarket face plate; ugly, but it does the job. If anyone knows of a faceplate that isn't so tall, I'd like to know about it. Check out the other two views in my photo gallery (http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showgallery.php?cat=707) for more important details.
  7. If you want a slanted console, I have one in brown. $25 OBO.
  8. Come on by and look at mine; I don't have the slanted console and managed to install it; jrach also had a cool install but it was a lot of work (he swapped the heater control panel with the radio slot).
  9. Judging from the appearance of what he's towing behind him, I think he would have been wise to run "slow and steady." We'll likely hear from him today.
  10. Wayne Flynn posted these this morning. http://www.pdxsports.com/go.asp?f=200506_RallyX
  11. Picky, picky, picky.....but thanks anyway.
  12. You're right; after I posted it I remembered the quad headlights so it had to be later.....my bad.....sorry.
  13. 84soob and I had our '84 brats; qman and zap drove the red XT6 and zap's impreza; jrach drove his '96 Impreza. Craig had his early EA81 wagon.
  14. Results are usually posted at http://www.oregonrally.com/but don't hold your breath since the previous poster is correct on the timing of results posting. Lots of our group were there. Qman, Zap, 84soob, the Rallitech group, glcraiggt, edrach (and #3 son, jrach). Our group collected a number of trophies in various classes but I don't want to post that until I see the final results.
  15. Two rallycrosses in one weekend. Brooklyn, WA site was awesome and lots of fun; the ride out along 8 miles of fine gravel was worth the entry fee all by itself. ORG event on Sunday at Hillsboro, OR featured a fine course set up by Paul Eklund again. More news and results after I get some sleep and can get some verification from others; others are certainly welcome to post to this thread.
  16. Can you send me the file as an attachment at edrach@spamcop.net and I'll get some copies made. Thanks for the extra work in making this.
  17. I learned about the 4 transformers when I had DSL installed at my Woodinville home. I called Verizon On-line (the DSL company, not the 'phone company) to request more transformers since I didn't have enough for all the 'phones in the house with the basic install kit they sent out. When I asked what I do with so many phones, the DSL guy suggested running the dedicated line as the only way to make get around the 4 transformer limitation. After running the dedicated line I called Verizon (the 'phone company) to hook up the line at the outside box; they wanted to charge me $125 to come do that and I had to wait 10 days to get them to come out for a "non-emergency" call. Then I called Verizon (the DSL company) and explained I have a DSL line to hook up. They sent a guy to do it in 3 days and there was no charge since it came with the DSL installation that I had already paid for. So be careful who you call; the name may be the same but they are really separate companies (or at least they should be---but that's another long story). There's an excellent write-up on inside wiring at http://www.dslreports.com/faq/faq/8.%20Home%20wiring There's even a section on how to hook up the DSL at the outside box that I found last night, but can't find this morning. www.dslreports.com just has too much information.
  18. Interesting. I have basic cable with internet added. If I remember correctly, I'm paying $45/month for that. In addition I use Vonage VoIP for my telephone service for $25/month, so I'm spending about $70/month for everything. I used to pay Verizon about $65/month just for telephone service and another $30/month for the DSL. I figure I'm about $25/month cheaper this way.
  19. I'm with Junkie on this. If you haven't wired your home to best advantage for DSL you can be hurting yourself. Back in W'ville when I had DSL I pre-wired my modem outlet with a dedicated Cat5 line (Cat5e wasn't available then). If you use the existing house lines you are subject to every internal connection (as well as who knows what cable was used to make the connection in the first place) between the box outside and the final receptacle you use for your DSL modem. I just ran one continuous unbroken Cat5 cable back to the incoming 'phone box and left about 3 feet for the cable guy to use in connecting the DSL. If I remember correctly, you just need to hook up the blue and blue/wht wires to the receptacle (I found my directions on www.dslreports.com). The 2nd advantage to this is you don't need to use those silly little isolation transformers on every phone you have in the house. We had 7 separate phones in the old place; turns out you can't use more than 4 of those little transformers (according to the DSL guy) so having a dedicated line avoids this hassle as well as having the freedom to add/move telephones within your home as you see fit. I realize that I'm telling all this to a pretty sharp electrical engineer, but I can't help myself!
  20. I hate to break it to you, but you almost need to take out the entire dash. The passenger side is do-able but I don't know how to do the driver's side. I did both of the front speakers on the Brat when Turbone and I replaced the dash. My suggestion is to forget the dash speakers (they are tiny, 2 inches or less anyway) and mount new speakers in the front, lower portion of the doors and run new wires to them. Good luck with it.
  21. 390 is cast into the wheel rims and 390 follows the tire size on the tires. Beware the 390 rims; only Michelin makes those tires and they are expensive!
  22. Makes sense, but Truck/SUV is still running in the morning. I can find my way so no need for you to get up early.
