Although I don't understand the point in busting up a good front end. Like you, I can spot a Subaru from a mile away; even underneath several inches of frozen precipitation.

Don't suppose your gonna add some t-tops to this one in place of the sunroof ehh Tim?

1986 Brat - 14,000 Orig. Miles

I think you should contact Subaru about that. They recently had a BRAT in their drive magazine that was one if not the first to roll of the assembly line. They may consider buying it back from you to add to their own collection. -

Let's see that beast. Bring on the pics! -
Was flipping through the channels just now and caught part of a dog rescue that was stuck in a wheel. The dog stuck wasn't what caught my attention, it was the fact that it was in an older gen 4 lug white spoke wheel. It was stuck in the center of it and couldnt seem to get back out. It almost made me cringe when they cut the wheel into several pieces to get it out. The show was Backyard Habitat and if anyone can catch a repeat it would worth the watch just for the old subaru part to be in the spotlight one last time.

Its an addiction above all. For about six months after my hatch died I was stuck driving my Tacoma. I felt that a large part of my life was gone. Until about a month ago when I got my brat I finally felt at home again. The love for a Subaru will not go away. Sure you will get mad and pissed at them when they are acting up but its all part of it. Just don't go out and buy a Honda. -
What do you think of the EA81 engine
Durania replied to mellow65's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I stand by my EA-81 to hell and back. Treat it like its' your first born child and it will treat you the same. They are only as good as you treat them. -
Could it be running rich? I heard making a turbo'd car run real rich can make it backfire pretty hardcore.
-
I was'nt aware that they came in a sedan.

Ill give you $100.25, thatll be a bargain.

Sorry about the weird smell. Just run down to the local sams club and purchase a bakers dozen box of doushe. That'll fix it, Right GD?

Im on my 3rd Sube myself. 1st- 91 Legacy L was my first car but has been in the family since new. 2nd-EA81 hatch that I loved so dear. It backfired like a confederate artillery unit and in the city incited shots fired calls. 3rd- BRAT got it three weeks ago from a guy off here. Love it to death, i love getting all the attention in it when I drive it around town. -

Maybe they are making it to compete with them woody wagon looking PT cruisers. -
The reason that I was asking is that I work for one of the largest bearing distrubutors and in the world and what we do is house the parts for the supplier until they are needed. The company makes them, sells them to us, we sell them to supplier, supplier sells them to the customer. SKF is a big one where I work as well as timken. Its basically many many different companies under one warehouse. I work for INA im sure somone has heard of them, our sister company in the buidling is F.A.G. Motion industries is a big supplier is why I was asking. Check our their website if you dont believe me. http://www.F A G.com minus the spaces.

I would suggest getting another set of cheap wheels and putting different tires on them for summer and just switch them out when the seasons change. Eventually you will save some money.

You talking like motion industries, applied industrial or what?

Durania replied to opelsuby's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
You more than likely smoked a fusible link. I did the exact same thing on hatch. There not to hard to fabricate up. -

Durania replied to Prospeeder's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Change the thermostat first thing. New thermostat will cost you maybe around $15 dollars. There an easy swap and will save you alot of headache from blown headgaskets. If that don't work next thing is the radiator. You do these things and are still having trouble, come back to the forum and we can go from there. -
