  1. Your trans should be fine with bigger tires and a lift they are pretty tough. It's the power loss from running bigger tires that will hurt. Looks like a nice solid car worth doing some mods on. Dual range 5sp and ej conversion are quite common on these just look around on this site.
  2. Thank You Nipper. My wife's 01 OB does this sometimes and I was thinking it was a ABS related problem. This describes the symptoms exactly and gives the cause. So spraying some WD-40 in the brake booster vac line will help this?
  3. I have a 01 OB LLB and am also interested in this swap. The McIntosh stereo is a great sounding setup compared to what we have.
  4. You might be able to clear up the glass with some non abrasive car polish and a buffing wheel. I have done this when glass cleaner just won't remove the road film.
  5. Another Subaru bookmark. Thanks for finding this nipper.
  6. Thanks. I had a 92 Legacy Wagon and it had a separate tank for the rear washer that's why I was wondering as I looked everywhere for it back there:o. Must have a plugged line somewhere. As for the abs fuse or relay I still need to find it.
  7. Registered without problems.
  8. 2 Questions for a 01 Outback H6 Wagon. 1 Where is the rear washer fluid tank filler? 2 Where is the fuse to disable the ABS system? Thanks for any help.
  9. I have seen some really nice 01-04 H6 Outbacks on e-bay for around the same price. I own a 01 and will have a hard time going back to the 4cyl engine. No timing belts to break, No head gasket problems. Just my opinion on this. I am not saying the 4cyl is garbage I just wanted to let you know whats out there.
  10. This is just what my 87 needs a larger ego. The whole I am in a club thing I can hear it all ready. Sign me up.
  11. same problem with the EA81 transplant in my 87 GL Turbo 3dr. Unsure of the year but does the same thing. After it stalls out it is a real pain to start back up. Anyone else have this problem and know what it is?
  12. Good to see all is well. I think this will be a hot item when you get every thing worked out. +1 here on the 5x100. Keep us updated.
  13. Of all the Subaru engines I have had the ej22t is my favorite. That car of yours is gonna fly.
  14. Looks pretty good for a winter beater. The wheels really make a difference.
  15. Any idea what years will work for the spring donations? I don't want to be seen around Hondas and Escorts too much! Please post some pics of the Escort springs up front. Thanks.
  16. 91 Legacy SS 2.2 Turbo 4eat. Auto with 217.000 miles. Avg. 21.0 MPG on the tank full of 93 octane. Mixed driving conditions.
  17. I have used 3M medium rubbing compound and lots of rubbing. After they are nice and smooth I apply some wax to slow the oxidation process. I have yet to try the cleaning kit. It sounds much easier.
  18. 92 Legacy 2.2 NA 215,000 Hard miles 91 Legacy 2.2 Turbo 205,000 miles. Both good. Had a 91 Legacy 2.2 NA parts car with 190,000 miles internal HG leak possibly caused by lack of proper care (coolant leak at waterpump).
  19. My 92 Legacy and 91 Legacy both leak from the valve covers most noticeable just after driving and while sitting at idle. Leaks right on the exhaust. It's time for my 200,000 mile gasket change. Just a place to look. Good luck.
  20. Welcome to the biggest and best family of Subaru owners around. I agree with the idea to check for spark. If no spark it is possible a non operating crank sensor would cause a no spark condition along with a bad coilpack. Also did you have the timing belt off at all? Best of luck.
  21. Thats what I was thinking. If anything I can always use more parts since I will always have a Subaru or three.
  22. I don't really know much about the history on this car. I saved it from the junk yard for $200.00 and drove it home. It needed ball-joints and a rear CV-shaft and some cosmetic work so with 200000 miles on it I figured the previous owner just wanted something newer and there would not be this much wrong with it. My bad. I can see the potential in the car and still think it is worth saving. It is still really solid where it needs to be (pretty rare up in the salt belt!) and I like having something different. Although I will pay the price for parts! There is a guy around here that works on nothing but Subaru so I will take it to him and have him check it out. Thanks again for all of your help it's nice to have a place where all of us can go for help.
