  1. putting the longer springs on the shorter struts, wouldnt this make the ride a little harsher? just thinkin.
  2. i have heard of this and if i remember right it related to the brake booster.
  3. piston slap dont sound like a lifter,im betting the rocker assembly could possibly be pluged at that lifter not letting the tappet get enough oil,if the lifter has been checked for clearnce this is about the only thing that will make it tic.
  4. the reason i could see the spark was i quit using mine too,i thought the problem was there but had no way of knowing for sure. you could bend them back or just unhook the lead wire off the back and give it a week and see what happens.
  5. if 97obw keeps hitin them curbs you can get a workout fixin his car.
  6. on the gm cars the brake pedal gets real hard and you think it aint gonna whoooooaaaa.
  7. i do know that mine works, they sound like a chatter on mine but i think mine was the first version, the first time i heard it i thought something was broke.
  8. yea blame it on the brakes, you had to be running 30 when you hit that curb.
  9. i believe it relates to what opie says,my phone charger bent the ears down in the cig lighter socket, one day i was swatting a fly and hit the dash and saw i tiny spark down in the hole, you might check this and get lucky.
  10. why are you sure its not the drive belts? this is the most likley time for drive belts, the alternator is charging hard, the powersteering pump is pushing cold fluid,so you think it is the timing belt?
  11. walk away, most states require a statement be on file with this change,if the dealer dont have it he needs to find out.here in my state thats illegal. and thats a lot of money not knowing what you are getting.would you be interested in a bridge aaaawwwww never mind.
  12. i think that certain problems wont carry over on memory, someone else will need to chime in .
  13. the reason you hear so much about head gaskets is because who ever has one go bad they tell all,you are not hearing about the other 50,000 that arent having problems.i think i heard the figure at 10-12 percent failure.i think the ford 3.8 v6 faliure was at 85 percent.yours might go this week and they may never go bad.i wouldnt run scared. jmho.
  14. theory has it that a knock sensor will cause the same thing, acts like fuel problem. as i understand it the timing is retarded when this takes place.
  15. well, i hope you enjoy what you get and remember SUBARU TAKES TRADE INS, just kidding, have a good one.
  16. i t6hink he has the solid lifters that the clearance is set by miking the shims and go from there,my guess would be that the clearance is to loose on one lifter.
  17. to get a fair reading on blowby you need to block off the pcv,if its not puffing out the oil fill tube with the pcv blocked its not blowby,if thats not it the engine cant be breathing, air has to go into that block from somewhere, not sure where but we need to find out because something is blocked off. PS blowby will be at its worst at idle.
