  1. my haines manual says the only thing that makes the cel flash is what the above post says, now it goes on to say if they are unhooked and have the flash hook them back up,one way or the other should make it right.
  2. i dont believe all this tire size thing is as big of issue as everybody makes it out to be,first these are not a transfor case locked in,the clutch pak is designed to slip,if this was as bad as everybody thinks these cars wouldnt last 5000 miles on dry pavment, and tire size, ill bet you cant go buy 4 new tires and run a tape around the tire patch and come within 1/4in of them being the same, and ill take bets that subaru dont measure them.
  3. ive seen two that did this, one i ran a cleaner disc thru[the one with the little brushes] and it was fine.the other one got the trash can. ed
  4. i am not familar with standard trans,i have never heard of a 4wd button, what is this button you are pushing?
  5. if you have under 100,000 on the car i would run the 10-30 cc,and then go to 5w30,i live in eastern ohio and maybe it will get below 0,north of here it gets 10-15 below sometimes.the 5w30 will insure starting in that cold. if you have over 100,000 i would run 10w40 cc,jmho. ed
  6. most subies lock everthing from the drivers door lock,i would put my key in drivers door and try locking-unlocking everything a few times and see if that helps.
  7. so i guess what im trying to figure out is if putting the fuse in just reduces the amount of awd,i have allways heard that it disables awd, maybe that aint so?
  8. the first thing i would do is turn the radio off before you burn up the motor,my guess would be put a hair drierin the trunk and get it thawed out,it is probbally froze where the antena telescopes out of the holder.
  9. my bet would be a relay under the dash cycleing, probally a wiring plug that didnt match up,the battery will most likely drain,i would figure out which relay it is and chase it from there.
  10. nipper, i know where the fuse is,i want to know if the guy that says his fuse is in and his awd still works.
  11. well in my opinion it shouldnt be leaking anything, black, green, orange,i dont know how that could be proof of anything except that it IS leaking.
  12. are we talking about the same fuse?the one under the hood, all by itself? is this a new can of worms opened?
  13. the way i understand this is with your switch you are doing the same as putting the fuse in,not 4 wd.
  14. talked to 3 route drivers[mail men] here in my area last year, they said they got 3-5 more mpg with fuse in,in the summertime.i tryed mine in all summer this year and averaged 3 more mpg.yours may very but it is one thing that WILL help, not much but some. ps what i did to mine was i put a switch under the dash, ran two wires from the fuse holder, put inline fuse on one wire[dont matter which] so i didnt have to crawl under hood all the time, the switch will not change after the car is started, you will have to shut off ignition and change switch position and then restart.
  15. i have to let the front wheels spin for about 2 seconds before the rear kicks in on mine, did you stay on the gas?
  16. hey nipper will you come listen under my hood while i start it?i cant be in both places, just kiddin---MERRY CHRISTMAS and a happy new year.
  17. my guess is all the smell is from built up burnt oil, until you clean off underneath and be sure where the oil is coming from its a guess,it could be either or both?
  18. you can get a little program that changes and toggles your ip address,do a google search on address changing,i saw it the other day but cant remember what site i was on,i will try to find it. http://www.iprivacytools.com/ this one is not free but there is some that is.
