Lost the clip for clutch cable, pedal end
moosens replied to xman's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Can I add to the confusion? Hey , I've got those clips , probably a bunch of guys do. When I'd part out my cars I'd save all those little clips ,etc. Let me know if you still need one and I'll look in my boxes of doo dads. I think that's pretty much the same size clip at that point from the 70's thru the early Legacy. Anybody else? -
How to remove the ignition cylider?
moosens replied to Giant's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
I've got an entire steering column with a good ignition switch with key if you need one. Looks like you do. I could remove the housing piece from the column to make life easier. You'd get the switch in the housing , ready to bolt in and plug in. Switch had rust on the cover but those are easily removed for a steel wool rub , or even find replacement I've seen on eBay. The switch turns well and is not sloppy. Its one of the items I have at the front of my storage , ready to ship quick. Contact me if interested. -
Body part match up?
moosens replied to raging squirrel's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
For your Brat the 2door car doors work and are an improvement for safety given the side impact rail within the door that does not exist in your Brat's. Makes the door more heavy , not sure if hinges are different. Glass must be from the Brat. Front valance is shared only with the 4WD wagon Windshields are the same all cars except the Coupe has "longer" corners up top. Seats , dashboard ,etc. all about the same except only the Brat and 4WD have the "4WD" in the cluster. GF model has tachometer , as do some GL's - grab the disty too. Enjoy! Sorry we neglected your post. -
total noob question be gentle

Very desirable year. Don't F with it ! Cheers! -
Tim , second line of first post. :-p All - I am pretty sure they are talking about gates being open for general admission and participants. Pretty sure there's one gate open all night with the watchman present. If you're late its no big deal because its a National event so they must anticipate a few stragglers..... like us.

Keep in mind we were told the mold was going to be destroyed back when we did the group order , so don't get too excited. I do still have the contact and sales rep.'s name etc. Last time we needed a minimum order of ??? 25 or 50 pieces - whatever it was..... but it wasn't any less than 25 I'm dead sure of that. Line forms here. Please indicate your quantity. Many folks have more than one vintage Subaru sedan , hardtop , or wagon from '72-79 or Gen I BRATs. ****Coupes are slightly different but the corners can be "worked" into the coupe shape , I've been told. That's right - the same gasket fits '72 -79 sedan , wagon , and hardtop perfectly and Gen I BRAT too. The Coupe requires a little stretching but can work. Edit, check page 4 for update. Waiting from sales rep. 4/12/12 ......

Thanks everyone for being patient. I have only one new windshield gasket I'm willing to sell but many people seem to be looking for them. We might need another group buy if that is at all possible - but keep in mind we were told at that time that they would be detroying the mold. Out front of storage - easy to get to - are most of my wheels. The curved spoke white Jackmans are in boxes ready to go ! More parts are also relatively easy to get out now. If you see it in my Gallery in the first page or so that means the part is really close to the front and easy to get going. Thanks for looking. As always just keep after me but be patient. I have a family and am NOT a business. Cheers! Paul

Real live vintage Magnesium painted? Maybe blacken the the inner loop and slotted hole sidewalls , like they were originally. Like she said , they're yours to play with but to most of us you'd be doing an injustice. Have fun , they sure are rare.

Try both ? Nothing says you have to do both , but it gives two opportunities. -

Might be good if I camp the night before somewhere around the Rt.61 /Rt.81 area. Also curious about Faust in Allentown but that's out of the way. Anybody able to give a report from there? Used to be some vintage Subarus off in the corner that was getting cut off from the main property by the highway they put thru it. Early April could work. -
Northeast Boneyard Day
moosens replied to the_bard's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
Hey , get your hands off that , it's MINE !!!!! Just getting some practice in. We've done this before. Guys from CT , meet up with guys from PA , maybe a NY'er or Jersey guy in there too. So far I've only injured one guy and none dead from all of us , so we're alright Can we get a report going? Weather is soooooo sweeeeet right now. Gas should go up towards Memorial Day weekend , Carlisle before that , so let's make it April - sound good ?? Need that report !! I'm fairly limited as you what I need these days. Early Legacy and early Impreza , or the needle in the haystack - 70's stuff. -
1973 GSR Magazine Comparison
moosens replied to Leeroy's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Excellent! I think I have this too , bought it from the UK when I was Coupe-happy. We got 'em on top speed !!! And we have the "unanimously voted" most UNcomfortable seats. Hence , the several stops required if going on long trips like to Carlisle for the big show for all old gen. Subarus. -
tons of NOS stuff on ebay i just came across
moosens replied to themoneypit's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Repeat of Danny W info - on here as "drivesubies" Not a big deal unless you just discovered him. He's sitting on TONS of parts you new guys have no idea about. He bought the former mid-Atlantic Subaru parts distributor's old stock. He still needs time to get the majority of what he has out to be inventoried and listed. Relax and breath. -
Yeah I have issues too , probably why I'm considering going .... :-p Well , we did do a few "Meets" at boneyards in the past , and Harry's and the Rt.61 scene are plenty cool to me. Ususally worth the drive , even if you don't get much its always a social event not to be missed. :-p How about we keep this thread going and if you guys want we'll start a fresh one for a boneyard day. Gotta be a Saturday to maximize effort. Harry's acts as the base. Would be great to get reports on New Ringgold and the other Rt. 61 joints. Faust in Allentown still had old Subarus but there was lots going on there with construction of a highway thru their property ....gosh , plenty of years ago now. :-\
