Anyone else familiar with the 1400's?
Did you folks get the 2 port exhaust 1400 in '74,5,and 6 like we did? That's the engine I'd like to put the dual carb on.Are you telling me that the 2port 1400 is still not the same size as the EA71?That's one thing I'd like to know for sure. Thanks for your help.

Meet the Coupe Get Together.UPDATED!
A friend of mine use to do the cargo runs for small pay,but lots of hours logged toward getting his commercial license. He'd bring a person somewhere every once in a while, but I don't think the company policy really allowed that. Infact his run went something like Stratford,CT to Danbury,CT to western PA,to Ohio, back to PA,Albany,NY,and then back towards CT...alll overnight within like 7-8 hours!!

Emergency contact info/anyone want to meet for lunch? East Coast Atlanta to CT
Wow,and just like *that* he calls.... They're near LostWater's place but at this hour I doubt Mark would be around and see this in time. So,they're near Christianburg,VA rolling up I-81 with the truckers from hell, pushing and pulling them northward. Our hero says it'll be an all-nighter ,toothpicks being dispensed as needed. He should be through NY early in the morning.Personally,I'm hoping he gets to Connie's in Danbury,CT early so I can scoot up there, take some pics, wipe my drool, and cry all the way home.... in time to get some work done at home. Connie,if you see this you can all me.Depending on the timeframe maybe we'll all meet at your place,or even any spot off I-84 conveneint for us all. You're welcome to call Andrew with directions,or if your place is not good we'll meet at Marcus Dairy or somewhere,if possible. There'll be some folks there who'll appreciate seeing that car,for sure.

Emergency contact info/anyone want to meet for lunch? East Coast Atlanta to CT
Last call he was going through,or just through Charlotte,NC.....or was it Charlottesville,SC?....or Charlotte's Country Kitchen after some chicken fried mountain oysters......??? I think he was going to hit Tony's-MeekyMoose-and just rest a bit, handshakes, etc. and hit the road again with he and his dad rotating toothpicks in their eyelids. Seriously, thanks to Tony and anyone else who helps our young hero. '73!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait to see it.

Emergency contact info/anyone want to meet for lunch? East Coast Atlanta to CT
Thanks for helping out guys. I got a call a while ago.Andrew says the car is excellent!!! They were just leaving the dealer and by now they're probably in SC somewhere. He mentioned possibly going up 81 instead of 95 just because of the board population/demography in the southern states. Chicken fried steak, grits, iced tea,and shoe fly pie......shooooooey boy! I hope he brings me a doggy bag!

Carburetor Education
We gotta git you a rebuild kit....and a place to send it out to. Used to be a place in Hamden,CT "Mr.Carburetor".Was indeed very reputable. Maybe Jesse would do it.He's going to need one eventually too, same carb.,same year. So....the next batch of rebuild kits that shows up,let's all be sure to get one.I think I have at least two unopened and one that was plundered,as I recall. I personally will be running three of these or maybe four (carbs) as I own two dual carb setups. So let's keep our eyes open for these.

Need Emergency Contact Info/#s driving Atlanta to CT this weekend
If you're along the way please let Andrew know.He doesn't need your time necessarily, but just incase he needs someone with local info, maybe a driveway or front of the house parking for a short nap...hopefully NOT a repair.

Heaven forbid what have I gotten myself into!!
No GL DL typically mentioned in the 4WD vehicles, pre '80,as I know it.The rest of the line got DL designations early on,like in '74 or so.GL Coupe also came about around then. The list shows a different grill for each of '77,8,and 9.I know the '79 is two round lights, correct? My '78 is quad lights,as are '77's....again,we're talking 4WD only here. '78 is the flukiest year.A little of this,a little of that.I personally love dual round lights,so I'm really glad my '78 and I found each other. Cheers

Heaven forbid what have I gotten myself into!!
In the picture, the badge on the left is '79 (4WD) and the badge on the right is late '77 and all of '78,like my wagon.

Carburetor Education
I tried to sell some of the rebuild kits I have but I think only one was taken. They're now in a box, somewhere. It's a DCJ306-8(last digit designates low altitude) THe float can be had too.I just got one off of eBay for piddly. There's not much to them.Choke, anti deisel switch, servos, not much else that you'd remove. The rest is jets, adj. screws, air bleed valves, hardware, etc. That's your baby.
