The Israel - subaru story
chef_tim replied to IsraBrat's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
The mass majority that I saw were 87/88 sedans that were 1600DL 2wds. VERY strange to see a car that should be an EA82 with a 1600!!! I have a bunch of pictures, I just havn't uploaded them yet. I'll just use this thread when I do get them up. Later, Tim Okay, hears Some pictures: http://usmb.net/gallery/Israel-Subarus -
The Israel - subaru story
chef_tim replied to IsraBrat's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
Hey Roi, I just got home from Israel. I didn't have your number or I would have called you. I did call Erez a couple of times, but we never did meet up. Sure would have been cool to meet up with you guys, but Nevitim AB is a looooong way from anything...LOL. You are right about 'Rus in Israel they are everywhere. Have a good one, Tim -
Weber throttle linkage - the right way.

Order the universal mounting kit and if comes with the correct wire guide too. I just took a propane tourch and melted the lead end off the cable to run it through the hole. I'll take a pic when I get home, if I remember. Tim -
I have never seen so many Brats in one place at one time. The Bedawin Nomads have them out with there camle flocks.....LOL. There are a tonne of other 'Rus here too. I've tried to get as many pictures as I can, but usualy we are driving somewhere when I see one. I could fill a C-5 with them and just bring them all home to the Subba Ranch No longer is Montan or the PNW the golden land of Subaru, Israel is where the real gold is. Later, tim

This is Vicky.... Just got off the phone with Ian, and is bringing Tims car home Sat. night... Those who where at the meet know me and Im not a harsh spoken person so please dont take this as such... Ian said none of the people with the cars stuck gave him any money, Just Tim and I... 150.00 to split 3 ways... These guys may not have gotten your cars out but they did try, They went out in the rain and nasty mud with their high dollar trucks and 2 of them got some damage.... besides that they used alot of gas and everyone knows the cost of gas today... and the cost of washing the trucks... So if everyone could pitch in and send these guys a few dollars then maybe, someone can call on them again... Lets not show them the USMB people are not grateful for their help and give us a bad name in that town.... Tim and I have put ALOT of money out on this trip already.... Our hotel room, and another one for some of the other guys, that was over 100.00, 150.00 to the guys, and now 300.00 to get Tims car home cause he was trying to help others... so Im sure everyone can come up with something... Thanks Guys!!!!! Vicky

Exact same thing on not one but two of my EA82 wagons. If you go for revese with out the clutch, just enough to get a slight grind, it will engage then too. I tried replacing the bushings to no avile. Tim

Midwest Meet Clutch Roast

See my part of the story on the post for the show in "meet and Greet". Tim -
You just wouldn't believe today if you were there. last night I got a couple of local boys with big Fords to come give us a hand. In the rain, and mud, and blood we tried for all we could. The one truck broke the other narrowly escaped being stuck with us. Went back out this morning, just a sloppy sticky mess. I honestly have never seen mud like this, pure gumbo is the only way to describe it. Four got out yesterday: Dave Valient, McBrat(who wisely turned around and went back), a silver EA82 wagon and Vicky in DRTYGRL. After about 2-3 hours this morning, the cops show up. Seems one of them owns the farm on one side. They ordered us to immediatly stop and get out of there. I'm tired and hungry, but I got over being cold from a hot shower at the Super 8, with, by the way, super nice people to even let us stay there. The guys who were trying to help us were also the best!!!! We left shortly after getting chased out, with arangements for Ian (local guy who was helping us) to deliver my hatch. Funny side note, we stopped for gas on the way out (I'm head to toe mud including mud dreds) and the girl at the counter asked if we were some of the ones who were stuck, gotta love small town America. I'm sure there is more to come as others trickle home. Tim

Midwest Meet: Special Offer: Custom Decals
chef_tim replied to mcbrat's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
Okay Mick, I would be interested in a 3"x3" Jeep decal with the red circle/ over it. infact, I'd really like about 8-12 of them for the front fender of my Hatch..... like on WWII airplanes for enemy kills:lol: Show me what you got. Later, Tim -
Check the drop and rise of the float. Adjusting that will make a huge difference on several aspects of preformance. Tim

always amazed at the numbers

You guys suck!!!! (J/K). I've been through Bozeman and the "Subby Game" gets nuts with everyone in the car shouting "Subaru". That's the worst thing about living in the rust belt, we get excited if we see and 84 wagon, not to mention hystarical over a gen 1 wagon (That guy must have thought I was a loon, waiting for him outside the store). -

Will a stock EA82 clear 27s?
chef_tim replied to overkiller's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Okay I just check the acctual size of 205/75/14 it equals 26/8./14. Mine got the piss cut cut out of them in the front and the back rubbed on EVERY bump. 175/70/13 are only a 23" tall tyre. Try them out, before you cut and let us know how yours comes out. There are alot of veriables, like the condition and highth adjustment on the susspention etc.
